Conner Maxwell | off-road racer

YES SIRR! First @ultra4racing king of hammers for our team. We competed in the @toyotires desert challenge in the B3 / Pro Stock Turbo class. We lined up first in our class & just at the back end of the open & class 10 cars. We knew we needed a clean 4 laps in order to win this race , so we played it safe on lap 1 , pushed hard lap 2 & lap 3 then unfortunately broke a drive belt, got that fixed , pitted for lap 4 & our crew told us we had a big lead & just needed to get it to the finish & of course it doesn’t go that smoothly, we sliced a tire half way through the last lap, got it fixed & cruised it to the finish for a first place finish in the Pro Stock Turbo class. Thank you to our pit crew & @lonestarracing1 pit crew, each pit was a gas & go pit stop. Extremely pumped for our team to start out the year in desert racing with a Win! WE DID IT! We won the @bestinthedesert Vegas to Reno race ! The longest & biggest race of the season and the most prestige off-road race in America! Hours & hours of testing , car prep, chase truck prep, team meetings for pits, and everything else that goes into preparing for a 500 mile desert race. I knew with a team full of killers that we could win one race this season, but didn’t expect it to be the biggest race of the year! With smooth pits, smooth transfer section & great navigating by @colebassler we managed to have each pit stop a gas & go pit, not one tool was ever needed & zero mechanicals. I want to thank the whole team for all the help , pit stops & chasing are half the battle of desert racing. Thank you again to everyone who helps out on the race program, without you guys it wouldn’t be possible. And that’s a wrap! Year two of running the race team and year one of running the trackside race program. Year two of running the team is a big task in itself, making sure 34 race cars and families are ready each race weekend, to teaching new racers the basics, to pushing all our seasoned drivers to be better. With knowing just how hard you have to push to try to make it to the podium, I couldn’t be more stoked for all our drivers. Watching our drivers battle for podiums and championships all season long is a win in itself for the team and I. Year one of running the trackside race prep program…WOW, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was in way over my head, my dad told me I was crazy but I was determined to offer a professional program for professional people. From structuring, budgeting, transportation, staffing, parts, equipment, presentation, technicians having everything they need, and everything in between. Huge thank you to my family and team members, they’re the real ones behind how professional and successful this trackside program looked all season long. None of this would’ve been possible without their support. Through all the chaos came growth, lessons, memories and a program we’re proud of building. I’m just a kid who grew up racing, loved racing, never stopped racing, and now has turned it into a business. By the Racer for the Racer.. Thank you to all of you trusting the team and I. With that being said, IT’S CONTRACT SEASON BABY! Time to get our drivers figured out, lock in the new additions to the trackside race program, and work on a few more things behind the scenes. A few weeks back we finished up @corracing rounds 9 & 10. We had a great weekend of racing. Qualified p1 , & lead it wire to wire for day one of racing. Day two of racing we had a good race going until I biked it in a turn & had to settle for 2nd. All in all, the car is dialed in & the program has made some good strides recently & I couldn’t be happier with the people in my corner.
