It has been 229 years of the Garifuna exhile from the Caribbean island of St Vincent and Grenadines. They arrived in Central America Honduras on April 12, 1797 making this there new home. After settling they then migrated to Belize, Guatemala and Nicaragua.

Come join us for the 3rd Annual Africa In Arizona Dance conference organized by Denise Bey! Our Master teachers are from Guinea and Congo, including Youssouf Koumbassa, Mama Mabiba Baegne, M’bemba Bangoura, Fara Camara, and Fred Simpson. They are traveling from out of state to share traditional stories and movements.
Event Details: - Friday, March 27: El Rio Community Center (1390 W Speedway, Tucson, AZ) - Saturday, March 28 & Sunday, March 29: 701 N Main Ave, Tucson, AZ
Registration & Fees: - $400 for all 18 classes via Zelle ([email protected]). - Fees increase to $35 per class - If using Venmo, please add a $3 fee. - To register, email your class selections to [email protected]
