It’s amazing how much improvement YOU can make by sticking with it, showing up and trying as best you can. I ran 39 minutes FASTER in 2026 then I did in 2025 on the same course. I’m closer to my goal now of achieving a sub 3hr marathon than I ever have been. You get out what you put in and as long as you keep turning up, even when you don’t want to or can’t be bothered. 75% of the time turning up is the biggest win. The other two things I would say, training is as important as Recovery and Nutrition. You need all 3 to really be at your best peak performance. AND, always build from the base. Don’t go at 150mph all of the time. It is exactly what I did a few years ago. Do those long, easy runs, bike rides, swimming and watch your stamina improve. I’m on my running journey as I know many of you are too. I’m hoping to get a few more marathons ticked off the list this year and then head for London marathon in 2027. That will be a huge goal of mine. In the meantime, it’s head down, keeping moving forward and progressing slowly day by day, week by week. #runner #runnersofinstagram #fitness #exercise #marathon

PB: 3hrs 14mins 21s 🥇🏃‍♂️💪 Another Manchester Marathon under my belt today and it was one of favourites. Manchester you did yourself proud, so many people out on the streets cheering us all on and helping us power through. Mother Nature even did her bit today and it was one for the most perfect weather conditions I’ve ever raced! Thank you to her ☀️ In my personal journey I took another step closer to my ultimate goal of a sub 3hr marathon finish time taking off an impressive 9 minutes from my previous PB. WELL HAPPY WITH THAT! All that running and cycling in the depths of winter paid off 😊 trust in the process and it will reward you 😜 A massive shout out as always to @conditionedbyscience for having my back, steering me in the right direction and being there every step of way. A massive thanks to my family and friends for always supporting me in whatever crazy adventure I choose to do, I literally could not do it without you all. @manchestermarathon Will 2026 be the year a sub 3 happens…? Only one way to find out….lets get back to work 😃 #manchester #manchestermarathon #running #marathon #fitness

I get asked on a daily basis how I stay in shape, especially as I’m on the road so often. The answer is consistency and a very solid plan for eating and training put together by Matthew @conditionedbyscience that looks like this: Workouts each week: 6 Push Pull Legs Arms Fast run (usually 5km) Slow run (usually 7.5-10k) *Matthew has my diary and checks the gyms at the hotels I’m in to design a perfect and viable session depending on equipment Steps target per day: 12,000 Eating: intuitive plan that Matthew gives me guidance on and adjusts to keep me in my target weight bracket (68-71kg, I’m 5’8”) Other general things that I do include: avoid avoiding alcohol on planes, and when I drink trying to go for low-calorie drinks like spirits and diet mixes rather than beer and wine. I tried to eat the healthy options on planes, take fruit with me when I go, have high protein snacks, only eat half a dessert et cetera, but I also eat pretty much what I want if it’s something interesting or exciting. Hit up Matthew @conditionedbyscience if you want to start a plan, lots of my pals and you guys have done so already. Full disclosure Matthew gives me a special rate but i have no obligation to post anything, I wouldn’t even talk about it if I didn’t back it wholeheartedly and you can see the results for yourself! Comment with any questions!

I’m so often in and out of places for work that I never get to enjoy or experience them. This week I’ve tried to squeeze as much as I can out of some of the opportunities that put themselves in front of me. knackered though? YES.
