I love fresh farm grown vegetables and fruits that are currently in season. I used to get a lot of them from local farmers market or shop, but since I have moved to Kew, shopping options have been reduced and I had to rely on supermarkets or make special trips on weekend. Then I have investigated all veg delivery options out there and one has resonated with me, @oddboxldn deliver seosanal veg & fruit from local farms in a box that can be recycled and there is no plastic involved. These lovely veg & fruit are most of the time are wonky and as we know not up to supermarket standards and would have gone to waste! The stats of food going to waste just at farms as retailers do not acept produce is shoking and then think how much average family wastes as well, it is just insane! So I decided to try this service out and see how many meals and days I can get out of middle size veg & fruit box. And amazing thing is that you can specifiy any veg or fruit you may have alergy from or just simply it is not your cup of tea. It is not an ad, and I have fully paid for my box of goodness.

I have decided to create this profile to capture my humble journey to more concious and sustainable life that would contribute be it a small drop, yet towards doing something good for this planet! I love it a lot and these are not just words, I have been lucky to travel and explore few parts of it, and each day I fall in love with it even more, with the nature, animals, plants, ocean, lakes, everything it has to offer to humankind. It kills my heart to see how much food goes to waste, how irresponsible the garbage gets exposed to nature, how industries behave unkindly to animal world. These are big issues, but if we think for a minute they all start with each of us, with the food or clothing we chose. With our mind and thoughts, do we respect our planet or not? Do we understand miracle resources it has, do we use them mindfully? I am not a saint and for many years all I have done was striving to more abundant and comfortable life, I was determined to secure it for me and my future family. Now when I stand stable on two legs, I want to make a change to serve this planet by starting with myself. I would like to make this profile as a diary and share my everyday life and little changes I make. What I have planned so far are around two big issues: food waste and plastic packaging. With the first issue it is more a less clear situation, however I do not think a lot of us aware that this issue is bigger than plastic! With the second, I would like to avoid any single use products packed in non-recycable plastic. Interesting thing is that Plastic, this swearing word, is not as bad as we have been told, today there is already recycable plastic material outwhere but how many of us do actually do their bit to recycle correctly and check their council regulations?! I am guilty myself. I am equally guilty for not making an effort and finding farmer shops in my local area, guilty of not buying lose, guilty of buying to much food and being overwhelmed by consumerism. I just want to stop this behaviour, switch my focus on present moment and live counciously, making thoughtful decisions. It is tough as we live in social media era and too many temptations, but it is doable!🖤
