I was selected to represent the National Guard Bureau on the “All Guard” International Combat Team for the 2026 Armed Forces Skills At Arms Meeting (AFSAM). This competition brings together our foreign allies to further sharpen marksmanship skills and determine who is the best. The most skilled shooters in the world are invited to this event, being able to share the line with these titans of the sport was the greatest honor I have had in my shooting career @ajsmit__ @rhodanj @jorybruijnderink @s.b.devries @peter19xx @a.m.solis10 . Thank you @ngmtc for taking a chance on me and believing in me. Thank you to @conationalguard @coarng_1860 for supporting my shooting career and allowing me to further my marksmanship skills to bring back to the unit level to make our state and units better. Without the guidance, mentorship, patience, and elite knowledge of those that came before me, I would not be where I am as a shooter or as a man. Alpha team took 1st: @michael.richey.779 2nd: @dontshootbaddino 3rd: @n.mcalister and 4th: myself, as individuals and 1st in every event and trophy except 1 match. The dedication, discipline, and focus that this team displayed is matched by none. If I have seen further than others, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. Alone, I’m just some guy and nothing special. But with this team, I am an International Champion. Proud of this team. Proud to represent Colorado. The 2026 Armed Forces Skills at Arms Multinational Small Arms Competition is a wrap and honestly I hate writing post match stories, only because it means it has to come to an end. To be asked to shoot amongst these men and women who have chosen to perfect the profession of arms is more than I could ever have imagined. I am humbled to represent the @conationalguard RRB @coarng_1860 @coguard1860 @ngmtc All Guard International Combat Team & @deptofwar I have so many past & present leaders, coaches, mentors, teammates, friends and family to thank for this opportunity. You know who you are, and there are too many to list (All Guard and CO) and I can’t thank you enough. I continue to learn every year from our International Allies, and Service Members who push their assigned primary and secondary weapon systems to their limits. Competition truly breeds excellence and allows deficiencies to be identified and gear capabilities to be pushed under the stressors of physically demanding day and night courses of fire. Knowledge learned will be taken back and pushed out to the members within our formations. The 2026 AFSAM International Team Champions🥇 remain within the @nationalguard NGB. All Guard Alpha secured 1st Place Team Overall Champions with multiple 1st place match finishes. Team members @michael.richey.779 @hunter__pass @n.mcalister who all had podium finishes and were coached by the best in the business @no_rules_ranch and @davekeenom are the best team I could ask for. I was awarded First Place 🥇 Overall Pistol Combined Aggregate champion and 2nd place Overall Aggregate Champion. Congratulations to 1SG @michael.richey.779 for securing the 1st Place Overall 2026 AFSAM Grand Aggregate Champion. 🏆 Seeing your performance on demand and leadership as Team Captain is meritorious to say the least. @monationalguard Our International Allies took podium finishes as individuals and teams.
