Tamako Yamada Solo Exhibition

開催中です。
2018年から毎年、布を土へ埋めて観察し続けています。
最初は布の一生を探る旅だったのですが、
いつの間にか、もっと大きな流れの体動を聴くことへ変わりつつあります。
それは、身のまわりに絶えず流れる機微を感じ、写し取られたその時間を手元で受け取るような行為です。
オブジェ、ランプシェードへと展開する作品群は、
重力・光・空気といった不可視の動きを拾い上げ、
常にここにある“かすかな兆し”
を再認識するための装置のような存在です。
作品は自然と人のあいだに、もう一度関係を結ぶ場を開こうとしています。

I have been burying and observing cloth in the soil every year since 2018. What began as a journey to trace the lifespan of a piece of fabric has gradually transformed into an act of listening to the pulse of a larger, continuous flow.
This practice is akin to sensing the subtle nuances constantly circulating in my surroundings, and receiving that time, imprinted onto the cloth, directly into my hands.
My body of work, which develops into objects and lampshades, functions as a device to capture the invisible movements of gravity, light, and air. They are intended to prompt a re-recognition of the "faint signs" that are perpetually present.
These works aim to open a space where a relationship between nature and humanity can be re-established.

For the second installment of the vowels x WAKA WAKA 'Global Tour', our furniture designed in collaboration with Shin Okuda's Los Angeles-based studio takes residence at COMPLEXBOOST, an alternative space in Tokyo's Nakameguro neighborhood, which holds uniquely curated exhibitions as an intersection of genre-crossing expression.
This exhibition is open to the public for the first time in Japan, following a presentation at Milan's Salone del Mobile and recent exhibition during New York Fashion Week at vowels' 76 Bowery flagship location.
While responding to the worldview of vowels' Autumn/Winter 2025 collection "Everyday Life", the exhibition focuses on the chair and stool specially made by WAKA WAKA for vowels, and attempts to explore the relationship between "use" and "abundance" in everyday life.
Made in limited quantities, the "vowels × WAKA WAKA" series will be available to view alongside vowels Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, available for purchase exclusively at COMPLEXBOOST.

COMPLEXBOOST is pleased to announce a one-day-only pop-up event featuring Michaela Fenkl, a Prague-based artist, poet, and creative director from the Czech Republic.
At the pop-up, visitors will have the chance to view her tattoo art up close. In addition, those who bring denim (or a T-shirt) on the day will have the special opportunity to have her artwork inscribed on it.

現在は日本でアート・レジデンスに参加し、伝統工芸と現代的な表現を横断しながら、その詩的言語を新たな媒体へと広げ続けています。
今回は、彼女のタトゥーアートを間近でご覧いただけるほか、当日デニムをご持参いただいた方には、その場で作品を描き入れる特別な機会もご用意しています。さらに、限定アイテムの販売も予定しています。
