This is a collection of recordings and field recordings made in Tokyo Feb-March 2026 while @bigcitysleep was there live-scoring two screenings of @thomascampbellart film “Ye Olde Destruction”, and these recordings contain some of the live performances, rehearsal recordings made in the apartment, and field recordings made around the city. Very limited white 10” lathe cuts are only available online from @wastemanagementrecordings and feature art taken by Polaroids taken by @es.cgdd The album features some rad live drummachine and bass from @natsukikato123 - “Strawberry Hotel” was compiled by @dimitriam and mastered by Jim Waters. Knowing that the world is in complete chaos during this trip & something new happening in distress. Landing to a population of millions of people made me forget about the outside world. Surrounded by a great energy force. Super engaged and grounded. Excited to perform with Nasaki & Dimitri in this new project band to score YOD by Thomas Campbell. We were all on the same wave link. It was like we always played together. This album is special in many ways. Bringing friends together. The art world of Tokyo together~ skaters, painters, photographers, fashion designers, you name it, we were all in the same room. Very proud to be part of it. AVAILABLE 🕯️ 🎹 🕯️ NOW Digital on CDrecs bandcamp and limited lathes thru our partner label @wastemanagementrecordings 🕯️ ‘Enid Gay & the Battery Fake Candles’ was born out of a performance we all did in last January at the @room4bar in Bisbee. An afternoon concert on the patio; Enid solo piano bar followed by The Outdoors, with Enid, @seanpeterrogers and myself as the backing band. As we finished the set, some Bisbeeites asked for another song …Enid jumped into a piano bar rendition of Ozzy’s ‘Changes’ …we all backed it up. On the ride back to Tucson we decided to record a version before Enid flew back to France. During the recording session we ended up also recording an original song Enid had recently written called ‘Plate’. She’d performed a version in Bisbee that day and it really stood out to me. It’s got ‘hit’ written all over it in any language. And here it is! ‘Plate b/w Changes’ digital on our bandcamp and very limited and very beautiful 8” clear poly lathes available from Waste Mgmt bandcamp. Featuring beautiful art work by @rockrollandremember - Dimitri 𝒜 𝓃ℴ𝓉ℯ 𝒻𝓇ℴ𝓂 ℰ𝓃𝒾𝒹 𝒢𝒶𝓎 ‘I can’t think of a finer mingle than that of battery fake candles and the golden Golden Boots. Bright. Titillating. Safe. All collaborations celebrate their intuitive and sensitive powers, their audacity to torch in mischievous benevolence. A controlled burn, if you will, whose glow illuminates and nurtures a friendship rich in dynamic sonic joy!
