Named one of the Best Wedding Cake & Dessert Bakers in the U.S. by @loverly for the second year in a row.
What I do isn’t just cake. It’s edible design rooted in storytelling, intention, and elevated service.
Being recognized alongside some of the most talented cake artists in the country? An honor.
If you’re planning a wedding that deserves unforgettable details, I’d love to hear from you. 🍰

It’s me, 👋, I’m the baker, it’s ME!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Figured we were long overdue for an introduction for my new followers.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m Tiffany! The owner, baker, cake artist, and creative genius behind Commonwealth Cake Company. I actually wear all of the hats since it’s a one woman operation. @jenfariello has a way of making me smile beautifully when I’m overthinking things! 😊
Swipe to see my little helper- he’s put in his notice and officially starts school next month. 🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love tacos, Hallmark movies, great wine, dinner dates with my hubby, and spending time with my four kids. I also love creating wonderful cake experiences that my couples and their guests will fondly remember. I enjoy the artistic side of designing and the creative side of flavor development…all the things that make your cake special.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few things I’ll probably never do…
1. Open a storefront- I like being small. I rather enjoy having a personal connection with every couple I create something for.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Skydive- I’m not that adventurous. My husband will tell you that I’m a risk vs reward overthinker.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Audition for a tv show- I like staying behind the scenes. I don’t need to be famous lol. I just want to live life to the fullest without a spotlight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tell me something about you!
You already know how to make beautiful cakes.
Now the question is: how do you get clients to treat those cakes like the commissioned pieces of artwork they are?
Tiffany Rosales of @commonwealthcakeco is one of the precious voices in our industry that other cake artists naturally gravitate towards for guidance and clarity when we find ourselves asking, “where do I go from here?”
If you’re stuck in the “messy middle” phase of your business with a hard-won skillset under your belt but no growth for the past year or longer, Tiffany has advice that could change the trajectory of your entire operation.
In this Layered Conversation, we’re exploring the shift from passive order taker to creative director of your business. We’ll examine what it looks like to lead the design process, to set boundaries that protect your artistry and the integrity of your brand, and to build trust so clients feel confident handing you the reigns (and compensating you appropriately too).
We’ll also get a behind-the-scenes peek into how Tiffany does this in her own business, digging into her philosophy of “quiet luxury.” This concept has reshaped her systems of communication and customer experience to move clients past admiring her work and straight on to booking with her—valuable insight indeed!

At first glance, they look freshly gathered from the garden — velvety roses, delicate peonies, and trailing greenery cascading across elegant wedding cakes. But these blooms never needed sunlight. 🌹
In our latest feature, Charlottesville sugar artist Tiffany Rosales of @commonwealthcakeco reveals the painstaking artistry behind handcrafted sugar flowers — edible sculptures shaped petal by petal from gumpaste and transformed into breathtaking botanical illusions.
The result? Cakes that blur the line between dessert and fine art, with blooms designed to last long after the celebration ends.

It is easy to think of cake as one more detail.
Until you see what happens when it is treated as part of the design.
When created with care and intention, it becomes something your guests gather around, photograph, and remember.

There are moments when a cake becomes more than a centerpiece. It begins to feel like a composition, where every curve, every petal, every detail is placed with intention.
This piece was created with that in mind. A balance of structure and softness, where each element feels considered and quietly in place.
When a client shares their vision, my role is not to replicate, but to understand it. To interpret it through form, proportion, and detail, and create something that feels both personal and complete.
A cake that doesn’t just sit in the room, but belongs within it.
