Being on set with young Ilokano filmmakers reminds us why regional stories matter.
Sharing here the on-set experiences of our Ilokano Production Interns โ MJ, Zechi, Ian, and CK, whose passion and dedication inspire us to keep telling stories from our regions.

2 days ago, we had a small short film screening in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. It's a first in the province as most film activities are competitions or festivals. And just recently, a workshop.
2 days after this small activity, I still find myself lost for words because CK and I thought it would only be 5 of us. And sabi namin, okay lang kung walang pumunta. Magmomovie marathon nalang kami. Eme. But we had 15 people who attended and the best part of it, everyone left the room inspired and happy, and asking if there's another one of this. Ang saya din marinig different perspectives!!
And yes! We're hoping for moreโmore activities to do, more people to meet, more love for the craft.
@commando_kyle and I would love to thank the people who keep inspiring us and showing us how passion for creating and sharing stories is sustained by an unending love for the craft and for the people you do them with.
To the directors who lent their stories and gave their support:
Direk Glenn Barit - Luzonensis Osteoporosis
Direk Julius Renomeron - Heist School
Direk Angel Allizon Cruz - Dito, Dati
To our inspirations and the people who remind us that kindness and love are the core for great stories:
Direk Arvin Belarmino
Ms. Kristine De Leon
Angela Colada
To MCB, for supporting our small activity at the last minute!!! ๐คโ๏ธ
And to those who attended (esp our supportive friends), thank you!!! We hope to see you again next time and sana with more people! โบ๏ธ๐
Lastly, CK. Thank you for believing in my random ideas! Hahahaha. Kahit naglast minute tayo sa venue at muntik ko nang sabihin na wag na tayo tumuloy ๐
To having a community who shares the same passion, love, and admiration for filmmaking and film itself ๐ฌ๐ค
Super late post pero deserve mafeed to hahaha finally had time to let go of Ilocos wow haha! This experience has been an incredibly memorable learning ground for me. I felt lahat nang dapat ko matutunan in producing, tinuro sakin in one project, hindi ako OA pero literal haha (cue tawa lahat ng staff and crew). After ng prod na to, lagi ko nalang sinasabi "Wala na tayong hindi kayang gawin" Also, I've met people I'd be thrilled to work with again. Quoting my convo with Gela, "grabe no pagod tayo pero hindi anxious, pwede pala yon" hahahaha
Thank you to Alemberg na clingy, Direk Jade (i'll do it all over again for you po except day 7), Gela, CK, Dabu, the sobrang powerful na Ilokano staff and interns (WEN!!), Xeph, Mark, Direk Remton, Ned and the solid art department, Teban and team, Mamshie Mikee and Manuel, Kuya Melvin, Mac, Roldan, Ram, Jhay-R and the James Lau Team, Artist!! Seven eleven na laging may barya!! Salamat!
This project helped me discover the kind of producer I aspire to be. ๐ค๐ผ
โ๏ธLONG POST AHEADโ๏ธ
"Check tayo ng location"..."paedit kami ng props need kasi sa set"..."Closed sequence, pack up..company move"..."kumusta ang buhay showbiz?"...these are the phrases that I will surely miss! Patawid prod, ang prod na tinawid lahat ng kamalasang ibinato ng mundo.
๐ฌ Stepping into the world of Patawid has been an unforgettable experience for me. At first, I hesitated, feeling the weight of a demanding and draining academic year pulling me towards rest. But my love for filmmaking refused to be silenced. So, I took a leap of faith into a new and fulfilling opportunity.
Working alongside the incredible art department and under the guidance of Direk Remton Siega Zuasola and kuya Junebert has been nothing short of magical. They've shown me what true dedication and creativity behind the camera look like. It's been eye-opening to witness firsthand the passion and hard work that go into bringing stories to life. As they say, bilis at liksi ang kailangan sa set... sanayan lang yan.
The Ilocos Crew has been my support system on set, always there with encouragement and friendship when I needed it most. Patawid isn't just a project; it's become a cherished chapter in my journey. It's where dreams of being part of something bigger came true.
As I reflect on this experience, I'm reminded of a quote that resonates deeply with me: "Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." - Harriet Tubman
