Join us on Tuesday, Dec 9th, 12–1pm, for a virtual webinar with Friends of Family Farmers! We’ll share what we learned through the CALF project, who was involved, and the Community of Practice’s four key recommendations to help small and local market farmers access more climate-smart, community-focused funding — strengthening farms and the support network around them. Stay tuned for the CALF Final Project Report dropping Dec 8th! The Capital Assistance for Local Farmers (CALF) Project brought together farm and food organizations across the state with lenders and government funders to bridge the gap, provide better technical assistance to farmers and generate feedback loops to make programs more accessible to small and mid sized farmers in Oregon. #CALFproject #pdxfarmers #oregonfarming

Systemic oppression relies on hunger. Feeding each other is political. When the system starves us, we sustain together. They can ration assistance, but they can’t ration community. Every body eats. ‼️SLIDE‼️ This document was created to make it easier to find food resources—especially for folks who aren’t on social media. Instagram can be a bubble, and a lot of people miss what’s being shared in real time. There’s been so much powerful organizing and mutual aid happening across Portland, and this is one way to keep it all in one place. You’ll find grocery support for families and individuals, restaurants and carts serving hot meals, and community pantries open to all. This is a living document that will keep growing as more resources surface. These offerings don’t replace SNAP, but they’re here to ease the impact of these cuts and help feed our people. @jawaherpdx
