The next photos are of Colter Carson and Georgina Lyes, they are DJs based in Ōtautahi/Christchurch with more than five years experience curating music at clubs, festivals, parties, pubs and on radio around Aotearoa/New Zealand. They share a varied and eclectic musical sensibility, with a song-based approach drawing from the balearic tradition. They have enjoyed a long-term residence at one of the city’s most beloved venues (Smash Palace), hosting well attended parties during the summer months.

We are beyond stoked to have Colter Carson playing in the Attic. After we witnessed him ignite the Smash Palace dance floor under his Craigslist Soundsystem alias, we knew we had to get him involved with Hang The Saints. Now that we’ve extended our event to two floors, it felt like a perfect opportunity to get him on board, as we feel his sound perfectly encapsulates what we want to express with the top floor and we are big fans of his selections.
In 2024, Colter brought out a self-titled EP as the first release on @edenburnsoneism new ‘Big Beat Manifesto’ (a sub-label of @public_possession based in Munich) and performed at TwoMinds festival, Christopher Tubbs’ Body Electric night and Port Noise. He also started a regular Mouthfull radio residency with Max Rodhouse (Rhythmic Ceremonies).

Colter is a lifelong music lover living in Ōtautahi/Christchurch. Growing up in a musical household, playing instruments and collecting CDs from a young age sparked an infectious passion for music and strong desire to share. His productions and approach to djing strike a careful balance between leftfield eclecticism and dancefloor functionality.
