Collins Cycle Works - 'Patch'

It's been a while folks... If you didn't see, at the end of April, I displayed some of my wares at the awesome @bespoked.cc show down in London. My 3rd year at the show and this time I decided to be a bit saft and add more stress to myself by fillet brazing my own frame and fork to use as a display model for my bags. The frame is all columbus tubing, mostly SL and a Max Top Tube. Fillet brazed on a crude jig I built years ago. The design is based around a @stridsland_journal Beachcomber. I wanted to buy one to use at the show, but to keep to the 'handmade' theme, I borrowed the geometry and the homage was born. Stridsland bars because why not. Brass bar ends from Ben @hexcomponents . Brass top cap from the lovely Pi @clandestine.cc . A few bmx parts thrown into the mix too. Just need to add on some internal ports for brakes and dropper post cable, and put some logos on it. Beer collaboration with the coolest people @nothingboundbrewingco . Bags wise, I went for a lot of bags and bright. Fork bags in partnership with @oldmanmountainracks adorn the forks, seat and bar bag with full welded waterproof liners. And a prototype pannier mount, which still needs some work before being back on the website. I'm back to normal operations now, flat out in the workshop. The Mini Courier is a bag I've had rolling around my brain for a while now. I took a prototype to @bespoked.cc this year to gauge interest. My idea was, Small enough to wear as a bumbag but large enough to be a crossbody bag. The front flap has an ultrastretch pocket underneath perfect for a phone to live in securely. Big zipped top with two internal slip pockets. I'm toying with a roll top to make anything waterproof but that's just a sketch at the moment. This one was a recent commission for the local world renowned brewery @nothingboundbrewingco for one of the staff's leaving present. I added the strap handle on the side to give it an extra carrying choice. Will be up on the site soon for purchase. And another one... I do make other bags, but the HipRoll just keeps being number one. It's also the best looking bag to photograph. I will take a few ready made V5 versions with me to Bespoked this year and they along with all the other bags in my lineup will be available to order at the show. Framebags have been really popular these past two months and going into March looks to be the same. This little number, uses a bolt on system for a cleaner install. Finished in Fuchsia and Black Knight makes it really stand out. I don't sell off the peg Framebags, every single one is custom made just for your bike. It's just what I do! Well the start of the year has been slightly chaotic to say the least. A thousand things going on at once, HipRolls and Panniers have been flying out. Still working on the updates, which will probably be displayed at Bespoked in London now as I'm slowly running out of time. I have a frame to build, the stand to build, all the bags to make for the show bike and I still can't decide on a colour scheme. 60 ish days left, helppp meee! Undoubtedly the fan favourite here this year. To think back to the first ever HipRoll I made for myself, shite comes to mind. And now these are jetting off around the globe, blows my mind. This one's currently on its way to the US. The eagle eyed might spy that it's also got two custom touches, first being there's no fidlock bottle mount. The customer wanted some webbing loops to attach other things to the bag while using it. And the second, which I am going to offer as an option next year, is the elastic on the base panel has gone in favour of an Ultrastretch pocket. This can be accessed from one side and provides a space for stashing a multitude of things. The website might be closed for orders, but there's still plenty of bags to get out the door! Here's a very colourful Beddgelert Handlebar bag going out to one very cool customer. The Beddgelert bag has sewn in loops on the rear and includes a removable waist strap with a @fidlock.components buckle, so you can convert it between handle bar and hip bag. Plus it's waterproof!
