Where the spark begins 🔥 There are women you meet in a single moment, and there are women you recognise across lifetimes. @bec_cuzzillo l is one of those women. We have known each other through different seasons, through past lives of business, reinvention and becoming, and I have watched her evolve in the same way she invites others to, with honesty, courage and an unwavering belief in what is possible. Some women enter a room and take their place within it, while others shift the atmosphere simply by being there. Bec has always been the kind of woman who lights the fire. Her work today reflects that same energy. She supports women to build businesses that genuinely light them up, not through performance or pressure, but through a powerful blend of intuition and grounded strategy. She meets women where they are, and then helps them move, steadily and intentionally, towards something more expansive. What I have always respected about Bec is that her work is not separate from her life. It has been shaped by it. From her early days in advocacy, to the layered reality of motherhood, to building a business that supports her life rather than competes with it, everything she teaches has been lived, tested and refined over time. There is a clarity to her now that only comes from that evolution. She knows what matters. She knows what works. And she is not afraid to say it plainly, to challenge stagnation, and to remind women that the life they want is not out of reach, but waiting for them to move. For Bec, freedom is not abstract. It is found in the structure she has built, in the time she has reclaimed, and in the choices she now has available to her. It is a life that holds both ambition and presence, growth and grounding. It feels incredibly special to share her work within this issue, not only because of the depth she brings, but because of the history that sits quietly beneath it. I’m 5 weeks into stepping away from the APS and going all in on The Forage. And something has been sitting with me…I don’t think I was ever meant to go back. I spent the first 5 years of my career in the APS and at the time, it made sense. It was stable, structured, safe and a great place to start until I figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up 😂 But most of my career since then has been in the private sector or working for myself — building, creating, moving quickly, backing ideas. Stepping back into the system recently made something clear. I don’t belong there. Not because it’s wrong.
But because it’s not how I’m wired. I struggle in environments where things move slowly, where ideas get stuck in layers, where you can feel the gap between what could happen and what actually does and where hierarchy can outweigh experience. And if I’m honest, The Forage has been calling me to make space for it for over two years. I just wasn’t listening because the fear of a stable income was loud. But I got to the point where I couldn’t do it anymore. I didn’t feel like myself and I didn’t like who I had become. Negative, defensive, argumentative, my self confidence was at an all time low and every inch of my body felt like it was in white knuckle mode. I knew something had to shift. Now I’m out I can’t even begin to explain the person I am. I have clarity, energy, momentum, true creative freedom and purpose. But the biggest shift has been my mindset. I’ve moved from “what if this doesn’t work?” to “what if this does work?” and that has changed everything. This is definitely not the easy path, but it’s the right one for me. And sometimes that’s the realisation you need, not when things fall apart, but when you step away and finally see what fits… and what never really did. A week well spent partnered with @visitcanberra . A city that truly surprised me. Most cities have pockets of nature, but Canberra feels like nature with pockets of city. Here’s the rundown by slide: 2. @canberraguidedtours I went out with the legend Neil in search of kangaroos, koalas, and even a curious wallaby 3. @nationalgalleryaus is home to over 166,000 works, including Ouroboros, a sculpture of a snake eating its own tail 4. The Canberra Wine District has 140+ vineyards and 50+ wineries, all within 35 minutes. The cool climate produces unique wines like Shiraz Viognier. I toured with @vanduvin.cbr visiting @brindabellahillswinery , @poacherspantry , and @yarrhwines 5. @nationalarboretumcanberra spans 250 hectares and was planted after the 2003 bushfires, now home to 40,000 rare and endangered trees 6. @raiderscanberra are an Australian professional rugby club. My first match and won’t be my last 7. @floatingsauna_canberra sits on Lake Burley Griffin and was the perfect rainy morning activity 8. As a lover of all things stars, @canberrastargazing was an interactive way to learn the southern hemisphere sky 9. I was amazed at how accessible Parliament House is, even walking on the roof, a symbol that the people remain above the government 10. As a flat white addict, Canberra delivered. The Canberra Balloon Spectacular has run every March since 1986. @balloonaloftcanberra offers daily flights year-round 11. @awmemorial honors over 100,000 Australians who lost their lives.
