We are excited to announce the appointment of our new Board Director at SATA — Sewon Chung, Head of Digital Content & Initiatives, Curatorial at M+ 🎉
With her extensive expertise in digital content strategy, innovative storytelling, and the integration of art and technology, Sewon brings invaluable insight from leading digital initiatives at one of Asia’s most prominent contemporary art museums.
She will strengthen SATA’s vision by expanding our digital presence, fostering meaningful collaborations in the art-tech ecosystem, and helping bridge artistic practice with emerging technologies across the region.
Welcome on board, Sewon 🚀
From Barcelona last summer, when we traveled in from London, New York, and Hong Kong — for friendship, love, all the cured foods and daily paellas, ample vermouth, Sonar, long walks, and siestas.
A few snapshots from November in Abu Dhabi → Sharjah → Dubai. I had the honor of speaking at the @icomofficiel General Conference in Dubai where 4000+ museums professionals gathered, reminding me how small yet expansive the world is. Grateful for new friendships, the kindness of strangers, and the scent of warm desert air filling my lungs.
During Art Basel Hong Kong this year I had the honor of speaking with incredible artists @sougwen@luyangasia@randominternational as a moderator of “Beyond AI, Art, and Technology: Creating Human Connection in the Post Digital Age.”
Beyond the beauty and the spectacle, I am drawn to the thoughtful intention, deep research, and iterative work of these artists working at the intersections of art, Al, robotics, systems, and immersive experiences.
Grateful for the opportunity to have this conversation and looking forward to more, as it remains a central question in my own work: as digital and physical realms merge, how can art transcend technology to create deeper human connections?
Arriving in Paris alone via train from foggy London, I was warmly welcomed with blue skies.
I saw Art Basel unfold at the majestic reopened Grand Palais, closed my rings by mid-day from hopping from exhibitions to fairs, and unexpectedly ran into new and old friends and colleagues traveling in from all over the world for Paris Art Week. I carved out one morning to do a sunrise bike ride along the Seine River.
Notes from late October 2024.
Joyful clouds at @currentplans ☁️
I went for an evening of film and sound performances, and found myself at my first ba-zi divination reading workshop.
Feels timely to zoom out from the day-to-day to think about the possibilities of destiny, our connection to ancient cosmology and eastern ways of perceiving the world (which has been on my mind since the artist talk by @ayoung___kim ), and a reminder that this moment shall, too, pass.
Reunited with my dear friend @emilyfuhrman.co in London for a long weekend in October! We took the Tube all around for delicious bites around the city usually paired with a cold pint or crisp Loire Valley wine, scored a perfect vintage Burberry coat, joined a community run around the neighborhood park, and caught the tailend of London Art Week / Frieze — opening reception for Danh Vo’s solo exhibition @whitecube and the spatial audio installation featuring AI training data by @matdryhurst and @holly_herndon at @serpentineuk . This was my first time returning to London since I came with my mom years ago, and it is astonishing how memories can be reactivated by something unexpected like swans in Kensington. I wonder what it’ll be next time. Maybe the cool scent of fog and autumn leaves.
Belated snapshots from 24 hours in Osaka, including the opening solo exhibition by Daito Manabe at VS., a new immersive art venue in Umeda designed in supervision by architect Tadao Ando.

Moments from Naoshima (直島)— a plane, train, and a ferry to arrive at the quiet island, leisurely cycling all around to see art, explore, eat delicious meals, and slow down.
