I don’t have any pictures from 2016 on my phone, but I was going through old press, specifically Japanese press and found thes spreads from 2016 and before. It seemed, going through these files, that we as a business used to be in magazines more often, but then I realized it’s not that we get less press, but PRINT as it used to be dried some time after 2016. There used to be startup magazines, indie zines, corporate magazines, food magazines, in-flight magazines, international magazines, newspapers, art magazines, and even some weeklies and that are still around (!) We’ve traded these elegantly designed speads of images and texts for the scroll and the clip. I didn’t even know that I was missing something, but fortunately, I have all these paper records of a the last of an era, a slice of world that was, not so long ago, framed entirely differently. Among a lot of other things from 2016, RIP to the spread (and my support to those carrying the torch).
