Building this piece was such an intimidating yet satisfying process for me. I wanted to create a piece that was mechanical in nature but tapped into surrealism. I was surprised with how much personality he developed.
The most challenging part was mounting the motors in a way that maintained the floating appearance. He is powered by my papaw's RC plane motors from the 80s so it holds a special place in my heart. It is amazing how well these old motors still work! Everything aside from the motors is yarn and 3d prints. Couldn't have done it without a little help from my friends @sebastianlame@oldmilwaukeesmall
