I Miss the Way You Swim — Out today 🌱
A beautiful new composition by Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, inspired by the living biorhythms of moss.
At Artpark in Western New York, electrodes captured the bioelectrical signals of moss.
Translated into MIDI data, these signals revealed intricate patterns — the raw musical material Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith used to inspire I Miss the Way You Swim.
The result is a piece that blurs the boundary between science and art — a dialogue between composer and plant, memory and movement, silence and sound.
This is not music about nature. It is music with nature.
Royalties from this release support Artpark’s Conservation Fund, closing the loop between creation and preservation — returning something to the land that inspired it.
