Inside the forum at The Pearl Innovation District's Levine Center for Education, every detail is intentional. Seating nooks use warm wood slat framing to create a sense of enclosure, paired with soft green acoustic panels that bring calm and functionality to the space.

The facade design of @cityofhope 's Hope Plaza corresponds with the organization of the infusion suites to give patients with long treatment times healing views and natural light. The strategically orientated panels and shading system maintain a comfortable environment for patients by providing diffused light and solar control.
Natural materials, organic curves, and extensive glazing that looks out on the surrounding marsh define interior spaces at UCI Health – Irvine. These design elements promote a healing connection to nature and create a calming space for patients and practitioners.
Eye-catching environmental graphics in the @uarizona Physical Therapy/Physician Assistant Suite transform the below-grade space into a vibrant space for hands-on learning and discovery. Layered colors and organic shapes create a bright, energizing environment that works in harmony with the interior and lighting design.
The lobby and café of The Pearl Innovation District's Research I Building establish a welcoming atmosphere that was inspired by the landscape and culture of North Carolina. As soon as researchers and visitors enter, they are greeted by a palette of blues, mahogany, and oak tones that create a warm environment, encouraging people to linger and connect.

The architectural expression of @ucihealth - Irvine echoes the San Joaquin Marsh's horizontal layering through deliberate stratification of form and material. The base consists of the garden level, events plaza and first floor, and uses stone and concrete to anchor the buildings to the site. Horizontal copper accents add warmth and reflectivity, subtly shifting with daylight conditions.
The Pearl Innovation District is a new mixed-use development in Charlotte designed to unite and accelerate breakthroughs across health, education and research. At its heart is the Howard R. Levine Center for Education, where a two-story forum makes a memorable first impression. Soaring "tree" columns wrapped in continuous wood fins sweep upward and transition seamlessly into an arc of ceiling baffles, akin to a leafy canopy.

The transformation of @ucla 's Rosenfeld Hall reimagines a 1976 building into a dynamic facility that supports the future of medical education. The project brings surgical training, simulation and standardized patient programs together under one roof, creating an environment for hands-on learning and interdisciplinary innovation. A new Level 2 addition co-locates the Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology (CASIT) education and design labs, strengthening the connection between learning, research and clinical practice.
Inspired by the natural flow of the San Gabriel Mountains, City of Hope’s 350,000-square-foot Hope Plaza, designed by EwingCole and CO Architects, channels water, stone, and light to create a calming outpatient experience. Sculptural forms echo erosion patterns, warm desert tones soothe, and daylight-filled infusion bays with mountain views help reduce stress—bringing nature, art, and healing together under one roof.

As the first all-electric hospital in the nation, UCI Health - Irvine is redefining what sustainable healthcare looks like. Set along the edge of a protected marsh, the medical center’s design is shaped by its landscape through a high-performance envelope, calibrated sun shading, and strategically oriented buildings that reduce heat gain by 85% and maximize daylight, views and comfort. #healthcaredesign
Designed to create a welcoming environment for the entire campus community, the Student Services Building at @calpolypomona offers a range of seating areas for gathering, focus, or respite. The three-story lobby staircase creates vertical circulation and encourages spontaneous interaction among students and faculty.
The covered "oasis" provides year-round outdoor gathering space at the @mayoclinic Integrated Education and Research Building. Durable 100-foot canopies are carefully placed to create a comfortable environment in the Arizona heat, minimize wind buffeting and still allow for efficient drainage.
