100 km at Bromo is not only about legs and mindset.
Here I’m sharing only my personal experience nothing here is a direct recommendation.
It’s about preparation, testing, and figuring out what works for you. In this post you’ll see the gear and nutrition that helped me finish the distance only things I had tested during training.
No experiments on race day.
Every element is a small piece of a big puzzle. In ultra-running there are no accidents. Preparation, testing, experience, and discipline make the difference.
If you have any questions feel free to ask, I’ll be happy to share more.

A huge thank you to everyone for your kind words and the incredible amount of messages!
This is the result of my training my second trail ever and my first 100 km race with 4,000 m of elevation gain @btsultra
I finished 5th out of 240 participants in 18 hours.
I’m feeling good- just lost a toenail on my pinky, but nothing hurts or bothers me.
thank you to my coach @anna.demonster@evokeendurance for the preparation,
Thank you @flowerboy.studio , @playersgoplaces the support,
and to all my friends! ❤️
You know, 30 km with 1300 m of elevation gain is extremely competitive.
This year, 4 people finished under 3 hours.
That’s just an unreal result.
And the top 10 time was 3:24.
It only gives me more motivation to keep improving and working on myself.
There is no finish line.

First of all, I want to say thank you to the incredible @flowerboy.studio community
I’m proud of myself. I only had 6 weeks of preparation after my 100 km ultra. I did everything I could in that time. And today, for me, it was really hot.
Thank you @btrultra
What I truly reinforced today:
Do it for yourself you don’t need to prove anything to anyone.
And second: be grateful to everyone who helps you the volunteers, the aid station support, the photographers, and videographers.
Today I danced, smiled a lot during the race, and enjoyed the process.
Thank you @orp_indonesia for the support and for the shoes- On Cloudultra Pro 🙏🏻
We keep going. 🚀

Back then, 90% of my training was outdoors.
And I did a lot using just my bodyweight.

The goal was to learn how to hold a high effort for a long time without burning out too early.
❗️Please don’t copy my plan it won’t make sense for you.
That’s exactly why I didn’t do much VO₂ max work. There wasn’t enough time, and in my case, it didn’t make sense. For trail running, this is very important. If you go above your ability on every climb, you burn out quickly: your breathing breaks down, your legs get heavy, and your technique falls apart.
Another important point: this was the first time I prepared without a coach. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to building running plans.
Although, to be honest, I really like having a coach. It gives a completely different feeling and a different level of responsibility.
One week left until race day.

At 95 km my foot started hurting badly,
so I decided to stop to avoid getting injured.
Now everything is completely fine.

Respect the race. Prepare with intention. Be ready to suffer, adapt, and solve problems in the moment.

I try not to forget and to appreciate the place I live in.
In Bali, there are billboards that say: “Your ordinary day in Bali might be someone else’s dream.”
