Hi, I’m Dan, an Afro-Asian graphic designer and photographer based in Philadelphia! Community and culture influence many of my works, with a strong focus on storytelling, intentionality, and exploration. Best food around Philly? What is your go-to order 🍽️📍Much of the halal food trucks are great, let alone much of the ethnic dishes here. Although, Jerk Fry City is a great pick. They specialize in Jamaican style Philadelphian dishes, and I like to go for the Jamaican Cheesesteak. My only critique is that the wait can be long, and there’s only certain things you can order in person versus online.
Advice for incoming Design & Illustration students 💬 Make sure to take breaks when you’re feeling stressed, and your calendar is your best friend. It may feel chill at first, but the work will add up, and timing when projects are due (let alone when to do them), will help alleviate the stress.

^thoughts: all creatives deserve to make something fun, it doesn't always have to be serious. This album was a breath of fresh air. Not that fun albums weren't made before, but sometimes we need something to dance to, rather than just ponder deeply about in a society that has enough things going on.

I didn't get to watch it, but when Badu and the Alchemist released that single, she did a live stream on Amazon. Afterwards, beyond the controversy of them using AI and all that, I saw her outfit and it reminded me a lot of Sun Ra and Parliament Funkadelic.

hair, 2025.
^hair: I used to have short hairstyles growing up. That was until 2020 when I began growing it out. I didn't really know how to care of it at first, but it was important to me; an extension of my soul, my artistry. Plus, I wanted to get cornrows. They looked so cool to me, and I guess to get closer to who I am identity wise. It sometimes feels like a little thing, but at a point, hair starts to become identity...it is identity.
So now it's been 5 years of hair, what a revealing, yet minimal thing.
