There’s a different kind of rush when you’re up at 4 AM amped off espresso, beating the traffic and the rest of the city to catch the crack of dawn. Had a good time testing the new Fabric V3 Lumaray and directing the visual campaign for its launch. Merging my love for cycling tech with the creative process—from script to final cut—is exactly why I do this.
We shot during that deep blue hour with Alvin putting in work on the Caledonia, and the Lumaray delivered through the dark blue hour. With 400 lumens, sweeping 270º visibility, and even a little built-in bell lol, it’s a cool little companion for those long days on the bike that start in the dark. Stoked on how the final video came together with the crew in a small window. Huge shoutout to the Fabric team for trusting us!
TLDR : @cncptteam raced one of the hardest road races in America, got fully skeletal, and had a great time!!
I learned how to race road bikes in the hills of Sonoma County, @levileipheimer taught me how to echelon and pace line during early season @grasshopperadventureseries races… So to be able to come back and race @levisgranfondo Growler with @alvinescajeda was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up!
Even if I wasn’t ready..ultra training is not road race training… like basically “off the couch” for a 138 mile 14000k race with a heavy roster of former and current world tour pro’s and gravel professionals. It was still an honor and privileged to even line up in the same start grid as people as fast and talented as the front row call ups.
Funny thing..it didn’t suck, yea it hurt a lot, yea we only hung with the group (groupetto) till the first climb. But we had an amazing day out, settled into ultra pace and pushed moderately hard till the finish. Got to see the tactics in the women’s race as they hit the base of Skaggs (spoiler..smarter and more interesting than the mens). Got Iced by @s0ulthief in the feed zone, and was able to ride with/pull for SO many great folks out there over the course of the day.
May not have been near the pointy end of the race (although the live stream was great to rewatch later) but still had an amazing time out sending some of the best roads NorCal has to offer.
And make all the jokes you want..if road racing is gonna come back to America in a real way..this is what’s it’s gonna look like!! … but only if they sort out what happened to @chloespritz .. ALL racers need clear communication and acceptance.

2 Ultra Boyz racing again current & Ex World Tour Riders and Gravel Pros turned out to be hard (shocker😂) 140 Miles and 13,000ft of 🆙 on some of Sonoma County’s Premiere Roads. It was beautiful, hard and me and @notchas DFL the Pro Mens Field.(SOMEONES GOTTA DO IT)

The @cncptteam recently traded in the long straight gravel roads of the Midwest for the curving canal paths of Puerto Rico. Three days of dynamic racing with courses that threw everything at them (and their Áspero -5) – single track, mud, and hike a bike. @MidSouthgravel delivered yet again—serving up pristine weather, a phenomenal race, and absolutely great vibes. I’m endlessly thankful to call @unlearnpavement a friend. Coaxing this wildly diverse crowd of humans from all walks of life into the middle of America is a monumental undertaking of logistical magic, and I’m just honored to be a part of the beautiful chaos.
As for the race itself? The new Cervelo Aspero-5 is practically a cheat code. From carrying speed like it was running late for a flight, to handling the red dirt with total grace, the bike simply performs and aided to my fastest 100 mile time in fours year with a finish of 49th
Massive shoutout to the wizards at @silca_velo for the clutch chain lube keeping things buttery smooth out there. Best believe the full wax kit is getting broken out the second I return to reality.
