Last Thursday, our community gathered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of S.A.I.L.’s Japanese Immersion Program! The event featured a tribute video, speeches, performances, and a special appearance by Deputy Consul General Hon. Hiroyuki Kaneda. We were also proud to welcome exchange students from Tokyo’s J.F. Oberlin Junior High.
Board members London and Shipp were excited to join the festivities, with Board member Shipp bringing a unique perspective as a former principal who once oversaw the Japanese immersion program.
Thank you to the many students, staff, and volunteers who made this event possible!
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍎💜
We started the week with @classroomcentral raising money to help ensure teachers have the supplies they need for students to thrive and today we had the opportunity to volunteer in the @classroomcentral store alongside educators preparing their classrooms and supporting their students.
Our teachers do so much with so little. Appreciation should be more than words. It should look like action, investment, and community support.
If you’re looking for a way to support educators this week, consider donating supplies, volunteering your time, or simply asking a teacher what they need most. Small acts make a big difference.
Let’s continue showing up for the people showing up for our kids every single day. 🍎✏️📚
