Over two and half years since we started shooting, this wonderful project is still giving back. It was an honor to be a part of it at the time, and years on, it's still the achievement of my career.
Watching Natalie get recognized last week was like watching your favorite team win six Superbowls but at all once. I've never seen anyone care more, anyone be a better leader, anyone put in more hours off the clock, or anyone pull their hair out more over things that most cinematographers would be proud of.
She watched dailies from the moment we wrapped basically until she went to bed, drove around for hours alone on weekends scouting locations, and fought for every shot, every piece of equipment, every hour of color in post, and every member of the crew that she possibly could.
If I hadn't worked on this project, I might not have much positivity for the film industry. But knowing that there are projects like this out there, and people like this out there, gives me hope that it can happen again.
