Yesterday, my kick-ass 13 year old drumming queen Pixie, performed her emo set

Getting Helena nailed down was tough, she practiced hard, and was a super nervous to perform, but absolutely killed it! I would have gotten closer for pictures but I didn’t want to make her more nervous and throw her off.

I can’t say enough about how amazing I think school of rock is. I wish they had it when I was young. The teachers loving support their performance, so they walk away inspired and uplifted. The performance element is invaluable, just standing on a stage and performing at this age is amazing, but also learning the dynamics of band mates, figuring out songs, and getting over those nerves all while being creative and letting your personality bloom. Love it! Sign up all your kids, and mention me *cough* *cough*.
