Novatrooper AKA “Golden Stripe Trooper” A Custom Minifigure by @cloneforgelaboratory Novatroopers, also known as Nova-class Stormtroopers, were a specialized variant of stormtroopers who were assigned to significant locations such as Emperor Palpatine's birthworld of Naboo. As cool as these guys may look, Novatroopers are primarily considered Star Wars Legends, not current canon, but have historically appeared in RPG materials and as special units in games. To be perfectly honest, I had NEVER seen one of these before Clone Forge Laboratory decided they deserved the minifigure treatment and created this AWESOME custom minifigure sporting pad-printed detail and mostly official LEGO plastic parts with the exception of the helmet and pauldron elements which are very close to their official counterparts. I don’t “despise” the new-era LEGO Stormtrooper helmets to the extent that many fans seem to, but I think that it says a lot that almost all of the custom Stormtrooper minifigures that I see make use of the original helmet style. Like Clone Forge’s other Stormtrooper minifigs that I have reviewed so far, this figure features a replica helmet that is incredibly close to the shape of the official element, but sits only a bit higher on the black headpiece underneath; something that I don’t really mind at all since it makes the helmet easier to turn for display without it popping off. Dark metallic grey printing is utilized for the eyes as well as all of the lines surrounding the eye areas and along the middle and lower portions fo the helmet. These prints give a very cool shine that’s still dark, but gives a good sense of the shapes of these details printed onto the smooth surfaces of the helmet. The metallic gold printing is a brighter and more “LEGO-like” gold than the duller shade that we see in the source material images and personally, I think that’s a good thing.
