A wedding film should show a Bride and Groom enjoying their most favourite day ever. It should be full of love, fun and laughter. This is such a simple point but one I think so many overlook. My wedding films look like days you would really want to be a guest at!
TIMELESS
A wedding film should be timeless and should look just as good in 30 years as it does today. I want to sit down and watch my wedding film with my grand kids one day and show them how happy and beautiful Grandma and Grandad looked back on our wedding day. I want to see and hear family in the video who might not be around anymore. I want to see them enjoying and having the best day and I want to share that with all my family in future.
COLOUR
Colour should be true to life but with a focus on warmth. I also like the nostalgic tones of 80s cinema that was shot on film. This helps ignite that feeling of comfort, nostalgia and the cinematic look.
ON THE DAY HERO
A videographer should be someone that can be a social chameleon, blend in seamlessly with guests and help people feel comfortable on camera. They should catch all the real moments and interactions in a documentary style but also step in and help nervous couples look their absolute best for when the time calls. They should help elevate every moment to be the best it can be while being your new best friend.
ENERGY
A videographer should be physically fit and maintain high energy levels throughout a full on busy wedding day. After 10 hours on their feet I still want them to be bouncing around a packed dancefloor nailing loads of energetic dancefloor footage. This is especially important for destination weddings where being in the Sun and high temperature could have a massive effect.
CONFIDENCE
After 10 years in the industry I have seen everything there is to see. There is no obstacle I don’t know how to overcome, no problem I don’t know how to fix. I know my equipment inside out, I can operate my camera blind folded. Any issues that may arise on a wedding day I know how to deal with. I give my couples zero worries so that they can concentrate 100% on enjoying their day.
