Wishing a wickedly happy and wondrously haunted birthday to my Aries sis Lara Vanian of
@seance.and.sensibility , who
@vinnie_mansfield and I joined last night for a serious dose of ghostly glamour on
@thequeenmary βs paranormal tour. π―οΈπ
The 2 hour long tour granted access to areas of the ship not open to the general public, like the first class pool area with its shimmering mother-of-pearl ceiling, the Grand Ballroom, the shipβs speak-easy β hell, even the creepy isolation wards. Of course I loved hearing tales of various spectral sightings throughout the years, but I experienced a small-scale trace of the unexplained myself.
A lesser-known fact about the mighty luxury vessel the Queen Mary is that she was involved in an horrendousΒ accident in WW II. Serving as troopship βThe Grey Ghostβ in October 1942, the ship accidentally collided with β and sank β her escort, the British cruiserΒ HMS Curacoa, a calamity that claimed over 300 lives.
The tragedy is considered by many to be the source of some of the shipβs most intense paranormal activity β which tracks, as far as Iβm concerned. Check out how the EMF meter lit up when we were in the hull of the ship, near the location of the impact! π―π» Some believe the spirits of the Curacoaβs sailors followed theΒ ship, bound forever to the vessel that could not stop for them.
Apart from the tour, Vincent and I loved experiencing a bit of the old world art deco glamour kept intact for hotel guests. Laraβs hubby Stevyn and she booked the Winston Churchill suite, known as a hotspot of paranormal activity, whereas Laraβs friend and partner in partner in paranormal investigations
@dawnne.malia1313 braved a night in the notorious Stateroom B340, which is frequently cited as one of the most haunted hotel rooms in the country.
Hope this year ahead of you is nothing short of transcendental, Lara! I cherish our friendship now and eternally, my dear friend π’π»πβ€οΈβ¨
