Spring is unfurling in the Food Forest - from our Spring Equinox gathering to Beltane apple blossom. We’re working collectively to create an urban commons, with all the challenges that entails, and I’m so grateful to help steward this land with a dream team of humans and wee critters. We celebrated our 10th birthday in March! Looking forward to our first community meal of the season, this Thursday at 12.30pm. Expect delicious veg curry, fresh naan bread and nettle pakora cooked on the fire! 🏞️ A Land Moot 🏘️ From 10 - 12 October 2025, gather in Ibrox, Glasgow, to explore the intersections of social injustice and land inequality. In the face of emboldened fascism, dispossession, and colonial violence in Scotland and globally, we hold space for building, resisting, strategizing and embodying our relationships to land. This is an invitation to moot - to vitalise our assembly, to move from talking towards action. There will be talks, but also workshops, songs, rituals, skills sharing, creative practices and ceilidh. In its second year, A Land Moot is being co-organised by a number of working groups. Each group is making space for exploring the histories, presents and futures of justice issues converging around land. This event is part of long-term struggle towards dismantling concentrated power and ownership and decolonising our relationships to land. All the feelings. Getting a roll of 35mm film back from the most beautiful week in Eigg back in May - blissful ferry journeys, basket weaving, communal meals, sea swimming, cycling, wildflowers, stories, all the shades of green, the loveliest people. So much gratitude to @nature_retreats_eigg & @allaboutwillow for the experience And at the same time heartbroken that tending to the land, preparing a meal, sitting on the beach with loved ones and friends is all that the people of Gaza dream of, and are denied by the Israeli apartheid regime. 50 mothers in Scotland are taking part in a rolling #48hourfast for Gaza. A series of small acts to show love and solidarity when we feel so helpless. A series of small acts to protest our Scottish and British complicity in war crimes in Palestine. All the mothers who have taken part have discussed how difficult the fast is, but also how guilty they feel knowing that after they can break it. With a few large pots of sweetpeas and calendula (ideal for a balcony or small garden) for £10.
