Fantastic efforts from @FalcarraghCleanCoastsGroup for an incredible sunny day #BeachClean on the Donegal coast recently! 🫶🌊 Not only did they remove over 25KG of glass, as well as other litter from our shores, but they have make the beach safer for use thanks to their dedication and hard work! 💪💙 We are always in awe of the #Impact of a community coming together to care for their coastline! ✨ #CleanCoasts

The 2026 Green Coast Awards Beach Locations were announced today along with the #BlueFlag awards in Youghal! 💚💙 We were proud to highlight 73 Green Coast Award sites, recognising the outstanding commitment to coastal excellence, and the efforts of #CleanCoasts volunteers who care for and protect them year round! 🙌 The Green Coast Award is national symbol of excellence with a focus on the environment and community. Join the wonderful @balbriggantidytowns for their 4th Our Nature Biodiversity festival on Saturday May 16th! 🌊 This lovely festival will include an EcoBites Workshop starting at 10:30AM, Picnic at the Polytunnel from 1PM to 3PM and a Beach Walk from 3:30PM. 🙌 John Gibbons, environmental journalist and author of The Lie of the Land, will also be giving a climate action talk in Balbriggan Library between 11AM and 12PM. 💪 These events are being held as part of Biodiversity Week, Fingal's Climate Action Week and National Bike Week.💙 #NationalBiodiversityWeek #CleanCoasts

Gang, we do love an ol’ day out celebrating all things Marine 🌊💙 A huge thank you to our friends and colleagues from @greenschoolsire for inviting us to join in with the festivities to close out #MarineWeek 2026. 🫶 The Green-Schools National Marine Environment Conference was held at the home of First Dates Ireland (@thegibsonhotel ). It wasn’t love at first sight we were on the hunt for, though. This gathering of like-minded students, teachers, and friends, already have bucket loads of grá (love) for our ocean. This was a celebration of continued care for our marine environment and each other.🙌 This joyous occasion was marked by shared learning, fascinating talks, interactive exhibitions, expressive art, underwater quizzes, and more! A big shout out to our fellow exhibitioners: Explorers Education Programme (@explorerseducation ) 🐙 @marineinstituteireland Explorers Education Programme engages with primary schools, teachers, children and the education network, creating marine leaders and ocean champions in Ireland. Quake Shake (@quakeshake_ ) 🫨 A seismic network of citizen seismologists monitoring Irish and global earthquakes, co-financed by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) and Geological Survey Ireland. GLOBE Ireland (@globeireland operated by @antaisce ) 🔬Supporting primary and secondary schools in Ireland engaging with citizen-science activities, solutions-oriented thinking and sustainable actions to protect and improve local environments. #Biodiversity #MarineEnvironment
