☁️✨Air purifiers and CO2 monitors are both powerful tools in the fight for clean air, especially in indoor spaces! High quality, well-fitting masks work hand in hand with these tools as well, reducing covid risk even further. A layered approach is key to risk mitigation, and making more options accessible helps us keep our communities safer :) If you want to use one of our purifiers or CO2 monitors, fill out the form in our bio! We can’t wait to hear from you. Stay well 🦋💗✨

Next to the illustration of the speaker, a bold black text says, “ARE YOU STILL MASKING? STILL CARE ABOUT COVID?” Below, in slightly larger font size, “WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.” The center of the image with black text in bold mentions the title of the project, “STILL MASKING ORAL HISTORY PROJECT” Further below, in regular text it articulates a key motivation and goal for the project of “DOCUMENTING RIGHTEOUS RAGE AND JOY IN SOLIDARITY”. The bottom of the page includes a black and white QR code in a white square, followed by the embedded link for the code, “TINYURL.COM/STILLMASKING1”. The code directs the reader to a google document where they can find more information about the project and access the storyteller sign up form.

Shout out to our reliable safety partners at @maskbloc608 & @cleanair608 ! These orgs have supplied free high quality masks and air purifiers at every market we've done so far — and hopefully many more in the future! This support is integral to our mission to prioritize accessibility in art and community spaces. When we first sat down to start discussing the possibility of Scorpio Market, one of the first questions we asked each other was "Do we require masks?" As disabled organizers who are in community with other disabled people, the obvious answer to this question was yes. We have no interest in hosting events our friends can't attend, especially knowing it would further isolate folks who are already excluded from most public spaces. We also feel a heightened sense of responsibility to protect and care for our community as queer people who know our history. This is important to us, and we couldn't do it without these orgs! Thank you Clean Air and Mask Bloc for helping us create more accessible spaces for our neighbors and providing essential safety resources for all of our Madison community! You can find ways to support these orgs and all of our community partners at the link in our bio. We hope to see you there! Image 1 description: Mellow pink-yellow background framed with an image of a speaker on the top right corner and a hand holding a mic on the bottom left corner. Next to the illustration of the speaker, a bold black text says, “CALLING ALL COVID-CONSCIOUS COMRADES!” Below, in smaller font size, “WE HAVE STORIES TO SHARE. COME GET INVOLVED.” The bottom center of the image with black text in bold mentions the (tentative) title of the project, “STILL MASKING ORAL HISTORY PROJECT” Further below, it says “Information Session” in regular text with the location, “Central Library (and on Zoom)” and time, “8/23 at 1 pm” A google document link to access more information about the project is included at the bottom in bold text, “tinyurl.com/still-masking” Image 2 description: A mellow pink background with black text, “MORE INFORMATION”. The center of the image includes a black and white QR code in a white square, followed by the embedded link for the code, “TINYURL.COM/STILL-MASKING”

Where would we be without our community partners? With Scorpio Market coming up this Saturday, we wanted to extend a big thank you to our partners at Mask Bloc 608 & Clean Air 608 for supporting our COVID-19 safety efforts! @maskbloc608 Providing Free Masks Mask Block 608 is a queer, trans, and disabled-run project distributing free masks to the community in Teejop (so-called Madison, WI.) They are absolutely vital in providing local masking infrastructure so events like ours can happen. Catch their table at Scorpio Market for free masks to use at the event. Consider donating so they can continue to buy masks in bulk and provide them for free! @cleanair608 Providing Air Purifiers Clean Air 608 is a volunteer-run & crowdfunded Madison-area clean air tool lending library for safer events. They are providing some of our air filtration! You can find ways to support all of our partners at the link in our bio.💙 [Image Description: Scorpio Market partner spotlight on navy background. We're only 1 week away from Scorpio Market! Our commitment to COVID-19 safety is key to making our market as accessible as possible, which is why we will require masks during our event at the Wisconsin Masonic Center on Nov 9. That said, our safety protocols might not suit everyone. We hope this explanation of our precautions helps you make a well-informed choice about your attendance. Thank you to our partners at @communicationmadison @maskbloc608 & @cleanair608 for supporting our safety efforts! You can find ways to support all of our partners at the link in our bio. Scorpio Market: Masking & More (reader friendly version of post graphic) Masking Scorpio Market is fully masked! We will be providing free KN95s during the event in partnership with Mask Bloc 608. However, we also encourage attendees to bring KN95 or equivalent masks of their own. Surgical and cloth masks don’t offer enough protection against infection. We will have volunteers enforcing our masking policy, and we encourage attendees and vendors to as well. Air Purifiers We will have air purifiers (courtesy of Clean Air 608 and Communication) running in the WMC ballroom. Currently, we only have enough air purifiers for around 75% of the room’s square footage. We understand less than 100% coverage is not ideal—please make the right decision for your health! We’re working to get more purifiers and will be sharing updates via our IG story. Alternatively, if you are able to help, DM us! Testing As a market of our scale, we cannot guarantee testing. However, we wanted to provide testing resources for all of our attendees. You can often find COVID-19 tests for free at local libraries and public health centers (call ahead to check!) or at COVIDtests.gov Rapid testing is great, even if just once on market day. To reduce false negatives and track exposure, you can try a series of 5 tests: 2 the day before, 1 the morning of, 2 the day after Thanks! We appreciate our community supporting us in all the ways it can! If you want to help us employ better prevention measures in the future, DM us suggestions and/or donate to our market fund to secure more safety equipment.
