This week has been one for the record books. The idea of a HF match at the TTPOA conference was something that was pitched about 6 months ago. They said run with it…. So we did. The result was on the $$. Needless to say it has been one hell of a good week. I can’t thank @sierraonetrainingobjectives , @claybee12 , @grivera05 , @griffithshooting , @cody.c.george , @gray.dawg821 , @xray.alpha.llc , @cole.anthony__ enough. This couldn’t have happened without the effort and belief in pushing practical that all these dudes have. Y’all flew halfway across the US to help and it was a huge success. Get ready TX because it’s only getting BIGGER and better from here !!
Huge thanks to @ttpoa for letting us do this and all the WILCO dudes that helped out and made sure we had what we needed to build it out.
Happy Friday!
@sierraonetrainingobjectives DMAD Stage 3 Shooting on the move. For cops looking for personal or department shooting scenarios these are the best.
Best run was a 9.5HF. Some tall prick set the HF at 10.5. Get after it. 👊🏽
T.I.’s new on is alright but Weezy and West are still 🔥
A LO and CO run on 25-08. Couch’d a little M piece in CO.
@blacklite_tactics for hooking up the filming.
@socalpracticalshooting for a great match.

One of my favorite stages from the @southwesthandgunclassic !
Skilled shooters don’t keep actionable secrets because they understand if the person seeking the information is genuine they will come to it anyway. This was the character of my squad mates for the match. Awesome shooters who shared stage plans and the reasons behind the why. Hats off and much respect to you all. @staccato2011 XC went to work.

Happy Friday!
Some dryfire #shenanigans because the skill building of dry practice is boring AF.
Nice and relaxed with no stupid face!
Not 1 flat but close, fun to mess around with draws from ALS.
Training reloads is importing but they shouldn’t be done alone in a general skill building sense. They’re fun to explore possibilities and really do a lot for improving gun handling.
Reloads with goal.
Grip: Check to see if my grip is durable post reload. El Prez is great for this.
Vision: Can move my eyes to all the spots faster (target, mag well, target) my gun handling and still have the discipline to get the correct confirmation level after the reload. Mostly ignoring the feeling of downtime and resisting the urge to speed up to make up time or points. 4 Aces is great for this.
Trigger control: Am I getting back on the trigger correctly and am I pressing straight. I’ll do a reload from a sight picture and trigger press based on the pre planned dot confirmation level and be very strict on the acceptable amount of dot movement. Trigger control at speed needs live rounds and a shot timer to assess reaction time. To simulate the same. Take the time for a clean consistent reload ( 1.20 - 1.40) and add .15 (conformation 1) - .25 (conformation 2) - .35 (conformation 3) The confirmation level then becomes the timer start beep. Beat the par, dot doesn’t leave contact with the spot being looked at and you have trigger control at speed dry with a reload. The times are rough estimations. You’ll need to explore what’s appropriate for you.
With all of this the next thing aggressive training will help is you recognize issues with these principles early and understand how to shoot with the compromise and fix it quickly.
The training structure is pretty consistent for all my training. I constantly revisit basic skill development drills every few months and see how if I’m improving.
Always try to add movement.
