🚇️Does Toronto have the best quality of life? @clarble says no, and she's not afraid to de-rail the conversation! Don't miss this week's episode of The Debaters podcast at the link in bio! 🎧️
Drinks. Food. Laughs… all part of the agenda.
An all-queer comedy show is taking over Stardust on May 21 with a stacked lineup ready to have you crying laughing.
Alva Sparkles: Alva Sparkles is like a scoop of moon mist ice-cream that became sentient and turned out to be a little pervy. You may have seen this two time Coast award losing comedian at Yuk Yuk’s, Lunenburg Pride or handling your grandmother a dildo at bingo.
Roz Kearney: Roz Kennery (she/her) is a part-time comedian and a full-time trans woman. Based in Halifax, she has performed comedy across the country, finding joy in her lived experience as a trans person who came out well into her 30s (juggling parenting, a mortgage, and a second puberty all at the same time).
Roz is available for corporate and nonprofit bookings. She also would like to be invited to your bridal shower, but will not attend.
Clare Belford: Clare Belford is a comedian and a nice person. Hailing from northern Alberta, she cut her teethearly on by forcibly telling deeply personal jokes about womanhood to drunk tradesmen. Clare has performed at festivals like Just For Laughs, the New York Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and she appears on CBC Gem’s New Wave of Stand Up. She writes for and has appeared on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and her
album, The Entire Cabbage, plays regularly on Sirius XM. It was also named one of the Best of 2021 by Bullseye on NPR.
Abhishek: Abhishek is a local Halifax brown stand-up comic who’s been hitting stages sharing stories and jokes about his ridiculous life. He has become a regular at comedy clubs and open mics, with his witty, charming, and fun dark humor (with a massive hint of self-deprecation). Whether he’s talking about his brown heritage, attempts at dating or goals of being a trophy husband, he has something that resonates with anyone.
Abhishek most recently appeared in the HubCap Comedy Festival, as one of the finalists in the Open-Mic competition. He produces the “Comedy Stage,” which won the “Audience Choice” award as part of OutFest 2025. He has performed in Halifax, Toronto and the Halifax Fringe Festival.
