A line is a dot taking a walk 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏼‍♀️ OSP is excited to continue the plotter workshop series, a series of four workshops from February to June, focusing on languages and uses related to pen plotters*.   📁📁📁 During this second workshop, through: scaling up, scaling down, making bold, thin, thick, on top, next to, drawing with a modern or old machine, using Posca or Stabilo pens, copying, and remixing and reusing vectors and paper — we will play with the line, its tension, its vibration and sharpness; and experiment with drawing, flirting with the fragility the machine brings. 📊📊📊📊 Together with our special guest Louis Garrido @louisgarrido91 we’ll look at existing vector libraries and use their illustrations to draw on various administrative papers. 🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️ A phone bill, a train ticket, an unpaid invoice, a cherished receipt, a useless diploma, a recycling guideline letter from the commune… bring any administrative paper lying at home that you are willing to tweak, customize, mark.  🗂️🗂️🗂️🗂️ What to bring? - your computer - useless administrative papers 📋📋📋📋 optional : - Inkscape** installed on your computer - your favorite snack 📜📜📜📜 No particular experience is required, we will only manipulate vectors on Inkscape**. 🎟🎟🎟🎟 We can only welcome a limited amount of participants and we aim for a diverse group in experiences.  🧾🧾🧾🧾🧾 Send us a note to this email address before May 25 : [email protected] ✒️✒️✒️ We’ll get back to you asap for confirmation and further information. ❗❗❗ Saturday the 30th of May 1pm-6pm at Jette400, in Koekelberg, Brussels, métro Simonis ⌨️ @jette4hundred 🏷️🏷️🏷️🏷️ Jette400 is accessible only through stairs. The workshop is free and funded by FWB 🖥️ plotterstation.osp.kitchen 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️

I’m very grateful to have collaborated with Laurie Charles @lauriecharles_ to build a website for her research project *Illness Narratives*, which brings forward new emancipatory stories of sick bodies. 🥄💙🥄💜🥄🩷🥄🥄 The project invites artists, writers, curators, and cultural practitioners to contribute texts — all available at illnessnarratives.net. 🥄🥄💜🥄🩷🥄💙🥄 Texts by Bettina Samson (@betttsam ), Georgia René-Worms (@georgia_r_w ), Vanessa Desclaux, Won Jin Choi (@won.jin.Choi ), and Laurie Charles (@lauriecharles_ ). 🥄💙🥄🥄🥄🥄 The website also gathers critical texts on illness and their accompanying paintings by Laurie, alongside a selection of health-conscious recipes. I was equally grateful to be present during Laurie’s inspiring research day at l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles (@arba_esa ) last January 2025, “The Illness Narratives – Récits pluriels de la maladie – outils d’émancipation narratifs et artistiques.”
Also part of the research day: Georgia René-Worms (@georgia_r_w ), CrashRoom (@crashroom.ooo ) (Etienne Chosson and Lari Medawar @lari_medawar ), Vanessa Desclaux, Guslagie Malanda, Bettina Samson (@betttsam ), and Won Jin Choi (@won.jin.choi ). The day brought together readings, some translated with CrashRoom, discussions, and exchanges around illness, its invisibilization, and the power of narrative as a tool for artistic and political emancipation. 🥄🥄💜🥄🥄🥄💜

Dear letters lovers,  📪📭📬 OSP is happy to start the plotter workshop series, a series of four workshops from February to June, focusing on languages and uses related to pen plotters*. The first workshop will focus on the so called single line fonts. Together with our special guest Mariel Nils @mariel.nils we will write love letters to [current, future, past] lovers, friends, favorite glyphs, summer lake, collective, picture, preferred useless object, etc. We will revisit the font(s) you brought using one of our recipes. Through a series of scripts and steps we’ll find their shaking spines (ductus or central line). We will then draw your declarations on paper, envelope or fabric using the spines and a pen-plotter machine*.  While we’ll work with fonts, this is not a workshop about type design rather an encounter with the tangibility of letterforms, pens and algorithmic processing. Join us for this introduction to rafting on the river in the heart of our glyphs throughout a set of software pieces. #skelefont #wubbly #wired #inlove #kraft  What to bring? - your favorite font (the curviest the best) as a file (.otf, .ttf) - your computer optional : - special papers - pieces of fabric We can only welcome a limited amount of participants and we aim for a diverse group in experiences.  Please send us an email with what you hope to find in the workshop and your curiosities around plotters, letter(shape)s or love letters… Apply to this email address before February 5 : [email protected] You can apply alone or as a small group. We’ll get back to you asap for confirmation and further information. Saturday the 14th of February 10am-5pm at Meyboom Artist run Spaces, in Anderlecht ⌨️ meyboom.space 🖥️ plotterstation.osp.kitchen Funded by FWB 🏹🏹🏹 ✒️✒️✒️ * A pen plotter is a mechanical drawing machine using 'normal' pens, they were originally developed in the 70's and 80's, used at the time for large format prints of architectural plans, CAD drawings or business graphs. The best tools for making vectors tangible and perceptible, our collection of machines is vintage, see  plotterstation.osp.kitchen/plotters.html

Was offline earlier this year when this happened: reading my text 🧊 HTML (Hyper Tensions Mindful Liberation) 🫧 at Rile @rile.books in Brussels🪑aka a <body> scan meditation through <html elements> 🧠👂👄🦷🫁👣🚶🏼‍♀️that made everyone sleepy and chewy hihi 🕯️🪡 This was during the launch of the publication Beginnings, next to @cleotsw @deal_eu @ultimate_tuna_melt ⛲️ + View on the spreads in Beginnings 🫗
🛶 Thanks Manon and Oliver for publishing my text next to other mysterious/sensible/bold/fragile contributions in this beautiful object 🏹 “Beginnings is a collective attempt at questioning protocols and forms of narration, initiated by Manon Michèle. The publication gathers textual and visual works from twenty-nine artists, writers and collectives. With two covers, ninety-six pages, and no end, the publication remains in flux, with no definitive conclusions but the shape of an ongoing question: Where do we start and where might the act of arriving lead.” Edited and designed by Manon Michèle and Oliver Boulton @non.assistance @mapinyourmind Published by Ex.
