Keeners were sometimes described as female bards (ancient poets) ....their role was not just to release grief but also to clear any family shadows
Listen to this video to hear more about their role in Irish wakes…

Did you know the Irish wake literally meant staying awake beside the body?
Listen to this reel to hear a little more about the interesting reason why…

People pleasing is not kindness.
It is self abandonment disguised as helping others, at the cost of your own wellbeing.
We say yes to others, even if we feel exhausted.
We go above and beyond, and feel resentment for it.
We overaccommodate, even when we know it's too much to handle.
And when we do these things time and time again, we reach a place of burnout.
If this sounds like you, this is what I work with clients on in my 1:1 coaching.

So I did the thing and stepped out of my comfort zone of ceremony and shared ritual spoken word performance at an powerful event, 'Resist', on Friday night created by @leedaze ...a night of artists, voices & art forms coming together around the theme of resistance to oppressive systems, abuse of power, and systemic injustice!
It was so refreshing to have these topics actually on the table and shared in a creative way. I feel I am past the times of sitting in spiritual events where we choose to stay silent and not speak to these very present issues that we are all living through.
My intention was to weave words…to bring us back into that deeper place of intuitive knowing that lives within us all. Into the parts that haven’t been shaped by everything we’ve been taught by systems, structures, and social conditioning…
I chose to connect to our resistance through defiant remembrance!
What I shared was an imbas channelling of spoken word that was created intuitively in that moment. (Again, my challenge doesn’t like to be curtailed or rehearsed, just to flow with the energy that's there)
It was just another confirmation to step into the edge and create a performance from a space of mystery and trust and just see how it lands!
Thank you for creating this with me, your curated background music @burliemac
Sharing it here...would love to hear how this landed with you.
Shame is rarely created alone…
which is why it also needs to be healed in relationship to others.
And many of us are still carrying silence in our bodies that was never ours to hold… especially in Ireland, where shame has been woven through religion, how we relate, s& xuality, and survival for generations.

I’m actually so proud of this piece of work… The Unspoken Series.
Giving more power to the voice…
to the storytellers…
and really allowing the medicine of these conversations to be heard & received!
The response has been incredible.
The depth of feedback… the way it’s landed…
it genuinely feels like something meaningful is being created through The Unspoken Series!
And because of that…I’m evolving this into a Podcast Series....watch this space.
So honoured to have these powerhouse voices share their truth on the last round on insta:
Dee Mulrooney @deemulrooney — art, the Magdalene Laundries, and giving voice to what has been silenced
Nicola Tannion @nicolatannion.phd — ancestral connection, grief, and the unseen realms that move through us
Anna D @annad.poetry — the unspoken layers of motherhood and matrescence
Gemma Walker-Farren @makeyuppers — violence against women, pa triarchy, and lived reality in Northern Ireland
It’s so incredible to sit with these humans and hear the voices from the 1st experimental series of The UnSpoken:
Beth Wallace @drbethwallace
Laure Murphy @everose
Aine Tyrrell @ainetyrrellmusic
Simon Courtney @_simoncourtney

Let’s talk about a shadow no one wants to admit to…
the part of you that talks about people behind their back…
and might even be a little bit b*tchy…
Because underneath that?
It’s often a survival strategy…
a way to stay connected with others.
This is shadow work.
Instead of judging it, we move towards it…
and understand that we’re creating shadowy bonds because we don’t want to be excluded.
And from there, we can move it into a more authentic space of connection.
This is the work I’ll be guiding you through inside The Unravelling, starting May 13th.

Announcing the first guest facilitator for Imbas 🌟 I am so lit up to be having Claire Killilea @clairitycoaching sharing her magick & wisdom on channelling, and the history of Imbas Forosnai practise in Ireland. Claire is a profoundly powerful channel for pure divine energy, along with bad ass & extremely deep shadow, shame & grief work. I am soo excited for this transmission 🌹

It’s not just about them...it’s more about what it activates in you after they dissapear that gives your power away!
This is some of the shadow work I’ll be speaking to in my online workshop on May 4th.
