As the world faces moral collapse and deep division, there is a wave of conscience and culture rising in Ireland. Laura Murphy argues that Catherine Connolly embodies the integrity, empathy, and fierce grace needed to restore unity, peace, and moral leadership, at home and internationally. If you haven’t yet stepped into activism, today is the day. If you already have, today we become warriors. If last night’s images from Rafah don’t radicalise every single one of us into revolutionary action, nothing will.    We can no longer keep our heads in the sand, pretending that genocide & ecocide; the savage killing of humans & the Earth, for no reason except power & greed, isn’t happening on our watch. 𝙐𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚.   Stand up & be counted. We are not powerless. Our power to overthrow colonial capitalism lies in the very thing that enslaves us - our consumerism. We didn’t incarnate at this time to be wallflowers & to work ourselves to the bone only to pay for that privilege. 𝘽𝙤𝙮𝙘𝙤𝙩𝙩.   We came to rise, together, in love. We came not only to survive, but to thrive. We came to create a world that is worthy of our children. 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩.   In the latest episode of Dreaming The Ancestors podcast, I speak with my dear sister @tara.brading about my activism journey & how I work with the Irish Druidic practice of Imbas Forosnai to create social change.    The Irish spirit is a revolutionary one. I speak about the intersection of creativity, spirituality & activism in Irish history, highlighting the lives of key figures from the Celtic Revival in the 1900s.    Ella Young, revolutionary mystic of the Celtic Revival said “We must overthrow this civilisation & social system; they destroy beauty & sow hatred between humankind”. That movement was on its way to doing just that until the Catholic Church replaced empire as Ireland’s occupiers.    Now, we must finish what these humanitarian giants of Irish liberation started. Palestine is the new front-line & the last stand on our war to end the scourge of genocidal, ecocidal, colonial capitalist patriarchy.    Today, we fight for the people whose right to survive is being annihilated before our eyes. We fight for the children who are being decapitated, unalived, burned & frightened into oblivion.    We are not consumers. We are rebels. With the power of the land, and our ancestors behind us, we can achieve anything.  Usual podcast places & link in b!o   Le Grá Laura #freepalestine #podcast

It was an honour to speak with @yaldahakim of @bbcnews yesterday about the life and legacy of Sinéad O’Connor. Their coverage of her funeral which preceded this interview was incredibly poignant and beautiful. @liamomaonlai said some words that had me in tears just before I spoke as you’ll see in this video. You can watch the full piece on BBC iplayer if you search for the ‘Impact’ show from yesterday. Only available in UK, I think. Thank you for hearing her. Thank you for seeing her. Thank you for honouring her. ❤️🌹 #sineadoconnor #bbcnews #magdalenelaundries #motherandbabyhomes #catholicchurch #abuse #healing

As the dust settles on our earthly goodbye to our First Lady of Celtic music, @moyabrennan I find myself returning to this beautiful song she featured in. Listening now, I feel her in the starlit skies, as angelic there as she was here among us. Her voice and her light will be with us always 🪽 Moya generously shared her voice in an art installation collaboration I worked on with @ciarandunlevy on the Hill of Slane in support of @presidentirl @catherine.connollytd (I’ve shared it in my Stories). Her voice made it. Along with @clannadband , she performed at @hotpressmagazine History In The Making concert in February of this year. As far as I know, it was her last major performance. Pictured above. It is one of the great honours of my life to have shared that stage with her. She was an incomparable influence to so many, and she will live on through so many now. I will remember her and invoke her magic, always ✨ Grá ó chroí to @brennan.pol @clannadband and all her family and friends 🙏🏽 Le Grá, Laura 📸 @jasondohertymedia for @hotpressmagazine #moyabrennan #clannad #ireland #music #mnánaheireann

I have been reflecting deeply on the #omendays journey recently that I had the pleasure of experiencing with @everose and @rdeburca and the amazing community that came for the ride! I am still reeling from the predictions and seeing them unfold over the last 4 months! Ive also started using the predicted energy to plan certain events in my life too! Like a destiny retrieval and calling certain timelines in! If you were on the journey, how has the first few months played out for you? Let us know below ⬇️

✨ N E W M U S I C ✨ The Great Blasket An Blascaod Mór The sleeping giant at edge of the world. Home to Peig Sayers - a cultural giant for us here in Ireland, who was instrumental in preserving our language and so much of its undiluted beauty. Peig married into my family. She married Pádraig Ó Gaoithín otherwise known as ‘Flint.’ My family were islanders there. My people my ancestors My lineage This song is an offering to honour this. It came to me last October, after the passing of Manchán Magan and so deeply inspired by the awakening he stirred in my heart and my soul. Everything magically found its place and its own kind of way into this tapestry for me. Breathe To Remember who we are. our land our language our awakening our remembering Remembering we hold so much wisdom in our breath. Breathe to remember. Tar abhaile. Come home To what has always been here. Releasing this wherever you can listen this Thursday. @everose @audreylouise29

This open letter is an act of conscience. Written in response to the abhorrent enactment, and celebration of barbarity in the execution of Palestinian prisoners. On this island, we understand what it is for our people to be criminalised, caged, and sacrificed under a brutal system of power. Good Friday is a story of persecution, execution and sacrifice. A story of what happens when innocence is offered up to maintain empire. And of what becomes possible when the world looks away. Far from being the redemption of humanity, what Israel is inflicting on Palestine and the world is a descent into our lowest nature. If we believe in human rights, in dignity, in the sanctity of life, in law, in a world that is worthy of our children, then this is the moment we must stand up and be counted. Our hands are tied in so many alarming ways. But we still have power. We still have a democratic system, flawed, but intact. We have a voice and our voice matters. Especially our collective one. Please take two minutes today: Write to your local TD. They are elected to represent you, and they do respond to constituents. This is where pressure becomes power. Also write to: Taoiseach: [email protected] Tánaiste: [email protected] Minister for Foreign Affairs (Helen McEntee): [email protected] @michealmartintd @simonharristd @helenmcentee Tell them clearly what you expect: Action. Accountability. Enforcement of international law. There is a template and all details in the link in my bio. Silence is not neutral. It is permission. Is mithid dúinn seasamh. Here’s how Irish figures reacted to Israel’s death penalty law for Palestinian prisoners. Voices across Ireland condemned the move as racist and unprecedented, warning it targets Palestinians alone.

The genocidal land grab in Palestine was never going to stay contained. From Gaza to Lebanon, the same contempt for human life repeats. There are over 9,500 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, including 350 children. Many of them have never been charged. Never tried. Never convicted. They are held under “administrative detention”, imprisonment without evidence, due process or an end date. Taken from their homes. Their schools. Their families. Often in the middle of the night. Israel calls them prisoners, detainees. But when civilians, including children, are locked in cells indefinitely without charge, ab**ed and to**ured, the truth is they are hostages. Held in death camps. A new law has been passed in Israel enabling execut**n by hangi*g for Palestinians. It doesn’t apply to Israelis. The last time there was a state sanctioned de*th penalty for one group of people and not another was Na*i Germany. Barbarity is being normalised. Celebrated, in fact. It is not being contained. It is escalating. Fast. Human rights are eroding worldwide. When will ordinary people, across every nation and political divide realise we are not immune to this? That we too can become lambs to the slaughter as our rights are eroded piece by piece by elite interests and dying systems of power? Will we only act when it reaches our own doorstep? Ireland knows what it means to live under a system that gen0c*des, t0rt*res and ex*cutes. That history makes it impossible for us to stay silent. It gives us responsibility to act. Silence is complicity. Action is no longer optional. Please take one or all of the suggested actions above. And share this post 🙏🏽 If not now, when? If not us, who? @michealmartintd @simonharristd @helenmcentee Síocháin, Laura 🕊️ ✍🏻 email template in b!0 🎨 @stefanie.reinhart.kunst #humanrightswatch #palestine #activism #ireland #poetry

On Sheela’s Day, a day in Irish tradition connected with birth, regeneration and the fierce protection of life, I sent the Taoiseach and Cork City Council the names of babies who died in Bessborough. Names - so they are remembered in the dignity of the human lives they were. Today I am asking people across Ireland, and especially the Taoiseach @michealmartintd , the Minister for Children @normafoleytd , and @corkcitycouncil — to take a small moment of remembrance. Take one name from the list. Read it aloud. Hold it in your heart for ten seconds. Because each name was a child. Each child deserves dignity. Gratitude to @carmel.cantwell who is William’s sister, Project Infant @projectinfant who is collating the names of all the babies who died in institutions across Ireland, journalists @donal_okeeffe @alisonbethoreilly and survivor and advocate @nollester for their work ensuring these children are not forgotten. Join us this evening to say clearly: No building over Bessborough. 📍 Outside the Dáil ⏰ 5.30pm today A letter template is available at the link in my bio if you wish to write to the Taoiseach, the Minister for Children, or Cork County Council asking them to honour the names of these children. And to call a halt to building on Bessborough. The list of babies names is there too. Please remember them 💞 Le Grá, Laura P.S. I have shared reverently some of the babies names in my Stories. Please hold them with care. #bessborough #motherandbabyhomes #sheela #sitesofconscience #ireland
