Glenn and I got married in May in a historic garden and filled it to the brim with our friends and family from so many different parts of our individual and collective lives.
After moving to Charlotte, we realized how important it was for us to get married here. Glenn and I have grown to love North Carolina more than we could have ever imagined…The music coming out of Asheville, the slowness of the south that we craved after 10+ years in nyc, the nature, the friendliness, the community…it was like the universe gave us what we needed when we needed it the most.
When we were planning our wedding we kept returning to the idea of something that felt old, organic, lived in, and romantic. Our brilliant planner
@sohoeventdesign helped bring that psychotically specific vision to life (I once told her I wanted every vase/pot to look like it fell down a flight of stairs 100 years ago and lived to tell the tale).
Our best friend
@pipcreedyhall officiated in a fab 3 piece blue linen suit, accompanied by her brilliant sense of humor and multiple
@bravoandy references. My mother in law read original and selected poetry by Dante and Dorianne Laux. Our florals were a combo of locally sourced flowers and herbs like mint and rosemary. We danced to Waxahatchee, MJ lenderman, LCD Soundsystem, The Dead, Daft Punk, and Gaga. We floated around the gardens all night with a high vibrational energy that I felt within every detail.
Our family and friends were the backbone of it all, dancing and crying with us as we earnestly put our love on display while babbling over gushy vows. The biggest thanks goes to my brother
@youngmantay who introduced us in the first place and let his best friend turn into his brother in law.
& my husband, who from the moment we met has loved me unconditionally, beyond my imagination, and without reserve, made me laugh throughout the entire thing. Magic. 🕊️🌙✨🪻
