From the Bay to Grand Rapids 🍻 We had the honor of meeting up with our friends at City Built Brewing Company to brew a special beer for their 9th anniversary release: Cultura — a West Coast IPA featuring Nectaron, Nelson, and Simcoe hops bringing big tropical aroma, dank citrus, and crisp bitterness. Huge shoutout to Ed, Patrick, Sydney, and Steph for their hospitality, collaboration, and an unforgettable brew day. Conejo Malo [koh-neh-ho mah-loh] translates directly as “Bad Rabbit” and is named after Puerto Rico’s own Bad Bunny. Between winning the Grammy for Album of the Year, headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, and getting a City Built named in his honor, Bad Bunny is having a heck of a week. We’ll release the beer at our Lägerland party this Saturday and it will be featured for our Watch Party this Sunday. The beer itself is dry and crisp, with a delicate rice character. It’s super refreshing and balanced. So why did we brew a Japanese style beer to celebrate Puerto Rico’s own @badbunnypr ? Because we wanted to. And City Built has always been where cultures collide. If you need more of an explanation, check out Yonaguni, a song in which Bad Bunny says he will travel to a distant Japanese island for his love interest and even sings in Japanese. But at the end of the day, it’s a beer style we wanted to brew and it’s named after an artist we wanted to celebrate.
