That’s a wrap on our ”Why Matter Matters“ Service Learning Unit! What started with a few boxes of donations turned into a powerful lesson in community, sustainability, and leadership.
We challenged our Year 3 students to bring in four items—a toy, a book, a piece of clothing, and a ”wild card“—and they absolutely delivered. But the real magic happened when the shop doors opened.
Small Actions, Big Impact: By giving these items a second life, our students put the principles of Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling into direct action. This hands-on experience has sparked a true sense of environmental stewardship that we know they’ll carry forward. ♻️💚
A huge thank you to all the students, staff, families and our Mills Fabrica partner @themillsfabrica who made this pop-up shop a reality. You’ve shown us all exactly why every bit of ”matter“ matters!

Students from HZ13 embarked on a tea-picking adventure, marching up hills and traversing fields to find the perfect leaves. They then delved into the lengthy process of tea roasting, ultimately enjoying the delicious rewards of their hard work.

Chinese Carnival mode: ON! 🎪✨
A huge thank you to our amazing friends from HKU @hkuniversity and EdUHK @eduhk.hk for helping us pull off another incredible Chinese Carnival!
We took everything we love about our Chinese curriculum and turned it into a giant playground. Shadow puppets? Check. Bookmark making? Check. Guessing idioms from emojis and battling it out at the spinning wheel? Double check! 🎯
Years 7-9 got first dibs during class, but by lunchtime, our entire Secondary School was in on the action. It was so great seeing everyone playing, practicing their Chinese, and winning some sweet prizes. 🎁
Love seeing our students connect with Chinese culture outside the classroom. Until next year! 🏮✨

When our Y13 students were asked what they wanted their Senior Class Gift to be, they didn’t hesitate: something that would help students for years to come.
Introducing two brand new pods in the Senior Common - funded through the Annual Fund and requested by students, for students.
