The ties between Philadelphia-based Circle 5 Records, 5 Finger Posse & SpaceGhostPurrp run deep. 5 Finger Posse’s dark & grimy style was a major draw for Purrp, who was one of the first bigger artists to co-sign the group very early on, around the time they were only a few videos into their run.
A lot of that sound came from their work with Working On Dying & their tread projects that helped push their name further. Tread had that rapid, dark, hard-hitting energy that fit perfectly with 5 Finger Posse’s image & sound. Not only would you hear many of their tracks on multiple Purrp mixxes but also members of 5 Finger Posse worked closely with artists & producers tied to Purrp’s BMB Death Row collective with multiple songs produced by SpaceGhostPurrp himself.
Some members even had full projects connected to Purrp, including HVLLX ICXX by 1990Morgue, Trippjones’s Gladiator Season 1 & 2, and 5G’s Pits of Hell. They also received co-signs from other Raider Klan members over time & collaborated with them too, so the connection was never just surface-level.
