Upon reaching the top of all martial art combat tournaments in the Matoran Universe, Mendoza starved for defeat. When every match ends in pulverizing your opponents bones, one gets bored of fighting. That boredom drove him mad.
He eventually returned to the Pit and joined the Deep Ones in hopes of finding a worthy opponent who will finally grant him his wish.
Even after centuries he still waits...

Urban legens say he used to wrestle Kane-Ra for fun even as a Matoran...
Lhikis found his fame working in the forges of Metru-Nui, with his raw natural strength he could complete the work of 5 Toa. After receiving the invite, he made his way to the Pit with Wiknu aboard the Toa Terrain Crawler, where he installed chainguns to his forearms. Hoping that wiping swarms of invertebrates would fuel his addiction to adrenaline...

Wiknu was an amazing scientist. His engineering and medicinal skills weren't comparable to anyone.
One would think that a brilliant and attentive mind like his wouldn't let details slip by. But during a ventilation error in the Toa Terrain Crawler, Goreflox entered a wound while in his gasseous form. Bursting out of Wiknu sometime later to hijack his body.
Even among Makuta he was an outcast, a disgusting misanthrope who would sacrifice his colleagues to get ahead. For which reason upon learning of a second Toa team being sent to the Pit, Teridax banished him to never return unless he kills each of them. Only then would he be forgiven...

Team Kaipatu (1/6, Toa of earth)
Hailing from the lower system of the Matoran Universe, Cyndarr took part of a hidden monk order that resided on the tallest and most unreachable mountains.
After getting his invite, he made his trek to Mahri-Nui, cutting through the thickest of jungles with his halberd and swimming through oceans to show loyalty to the cause.
Though communication with him is difficult, his CQB prowess proves to be of great help for the team.
