Sipping on a very special Greek wine🇬🇷🍷 made from the Limnoia grape🍇, an indigenous variety that produces elegant, medium-bodied, and deeply colored wines known for their high acidity, firm yet silky tannins, and complex aromas of red fruits (cherry, strawberry), herbs, and earthy notes. 🥂
@hermannjwiemer ✨ a top quality winery in the Finger Lakes🇺🇸 from the 📍Seneca Lake AVA that I love!!
@hermannjwiemer was established by German native, Hermann Wiemer, who brought Mosel expertise to Seneca Lake’s similar climate and soils. 🥂They are considered a benchmark for quality, helping establish the Finger Lakes’ reputation for world-class cool climate wine.❄️🍾
I personally recommend their dry Rieslings and Gewurtztraminers.🤩
The estate focuses on biodynamic farming, minimal intervention, and indigenous yeast, creating wines known for balance, texture, and site expression, earning Demeter certification and high praise. 😮💨😮💨
Cahors📍 is the birthplace of Malbec🍇……not Argentina🥰☝🏻
Cahors📍 is a region or AOP (Appellation d’Origine Protégée) in Southwest France🇫🇷 that uses Côt🍇 (the local name for the Malbec grape) as the dominant variety.
Cahors is the historic cradle of Malbec.🤩Malbec spread from here across France and eventually to Argentina in the 1️⃣9️⃣th century and some vines in Cahors date back to Roman times.
Cahors Malbec is known for:
✨ Very deep, almost black color, often called the “Black Wine of Cahors” due to high pigment from thick skins.
🍇 Bold fruit like blackberry, black cherry, plum, sometimes violet.
🌿 Savory and earthy notes like tobacco, leather, spice, and forest floor with aging.
💪 Firm tannins and structure, stronger and more tannic than many Argentine Malbecs.
⚖️ Balanced acidity which can make them great with rich foods and also suitable for aging.
