🚨 TONIGHT 6P 🚨
The @tridentboulder with Tyson Bennett aka @chromaspore are proud to present a new series we called, “The Tongueless Theater.” It brings to the Trident stage screenings of silent films from the past, present, and future, and features original scores and soundtracks performed by local composers and musicians. For our second film, we present: The Cabinet of Caligari. A 1920, a romping German Impressionist film that is the precursor for the art of Tim Burton and Guillermo Del Toro. Written by two disillusioned soldiers who survived World War One, it explores the terrifying results of when power is left unchecked and reality becomes uncertain. Nothing like our present day struggles ;)
The Tongueless Theater returns with the second film of its series. “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”. A revolutionary film with a completely reimagined (and live) score by @chromaspore . Written by 2 German soldiers who survived the horrors of the First World War, this disturbing expressionist horror film explores what happens when power is left unchecked and reality is uncertain. Echoing…other time periods…
We, with The Trident, are proud to present a new series we are calling, “The Tongueless Theater.” It brings to the Trident stage screenings of silent films from the past, present, and future, and features original scores and soundtracks performed by local composers and musicians. For our maiden voyage we present Tod Browning’s, ‘The Unknown.’ A remarkable 1927 movie, originally advertised as a horror film, starring Lon Chaney and Joan Crawford. It explores obsession, love, and madness and is pure artistic fun, even hinting imagery filmmakers like Wes Anderson and Stanley Kubrick would eventually explore. Original score by local musician/composer, Chromaspore, performed by members of Jazzetry’s, Von Disco.
