They commissioned ‘Worthy is the Lamb’ for the album, and I was - and still am - completely blown away by this performance: electrifying sound, sheer dynamism… utterly compelling singing at its very best ⚡️🤍
The joyous madness of doing 14 (!) Matthew Passions in a row with @bachvereniging under @masaaki_bcj is somewhat alleviated by getting to appear for the first time on the All of Bach YouTube channel.
I've done the Matthew far less than the John, so every day is a chance to discover something new. And also to enjoy the godlike singing of @alexander_chance_ct and all the rest of these brilliant colleagues!

Thinking back on last weekend's concert of Il Trionfo @wigmore_hall . Such a special confluence of things. Orchestra on fire, dream team of soloists, conductor paying attention to all the details, friends in the hall, and I think the *warmest* reception I've ever seen from an audience in the UK. It's a crazy industry with an unpredictable lifestyle, so we should celebrate and cling to these precious moments.

On 28 February 2026, @christopherlowrey - countertenor will appear at @wigmore_hall , London as Disinganno in Handel’s Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno (Roman version).
Acclaimed for his intellectual depth, vocal elegance, and luminous countertenor timbre, Lowrey brings rare psychological insight to one of Handel’s most compelling allegorical figures. He will be joined by @lanuovamusicauk under the musical direction of David Bates, whose historically informed approach lends vitality and dramatic urgency to this early masterpiece.
