everything will be posted on my story and taken down after its claimed, things will be kept on my highlights until the end of the week!

there is the legacy of the apple orchard, the apple as a symbol of beauty, standard, colonial taming, then rotting knowledge at the floor of the orchard it passes, its seeds become again in a cycle but changing, renewing
then the centaurs meeting in the orchard to steal a fantasy, beasts caught in between inheritances: animal and human, no longer/never separate.
this piece echoes the thoughts that are not all the way there
canvas, fabric marker, ricepaper, thread, colored pencil, earthenware, glaze

had a really tremendous time @khncenter these past couple weeks. i started learning to sew in August and this residency gave me the space and time, not to mention the cheerleading from fellow residents to stretch out into a new medium. if you know me you know i work fast usually but these pieces were much much slower than ive ever worked so it was amazing to forcibly slow down.. i even almost finished one piece!
both textile drawings were made from recycled pillowcases, clothing and fabric
