On the first day, Ellen taught me about cleavers.
On the second day, we found the attic.
On the third day, the gingko found us.
On the fourth day, there was the ladybug searching something like summer or butter or grief.
On the fifth day, there were fifteen songs and fifteen friends and a quality of light like genesis. Full of awe and gratitude after a week of co-writing —

Can't believe one of the best weeks of my life is over :'( I had so much fun at the @chrisdiffordacademy last week and even though we wrote so many new songs, one of the best parts was getting together with everyone and singing at the end of the day. It was a mix of our own songs, folk songs, and ancient classics like 99 Luftballoons & "I'm With You" by @avrillavigne

Home sweet home after a beautiful week of songwriting with strangers who soon became friends thanks to @chrisdiffordacademy 💙
Songwriting is a craft, and it's also a bit magic, especially when it's done in collaboration with others.
We laughed, we cried, we sang terrible covers late into the night and in between all of that we wrote some cracking new songs together. I'll be forever grateful.
Thanks to @chrisdifford for his thoughtful, kind and funny facilitation throughout the week. Gently guiding us to not only write some new songs but also to believe in ourselves along the way, too.
