Excited to announce the in-progress Delaware Music History Archive. We are attempting to document the history of Delaware music / music in Delaware from 1940-present. We have been tracking bands, artists, releases, shows, birthplaces, final resting places and more for Delaware music, with the intention to build an interactive map. Users will be able to see photos, videos, flyers, media mentions and much more.
Paul and I met in October 1995 and were pretty quickly inseparable. We got into punk and record collecting together, and before too long, our interests expanded, sometimes together, but often in parallel from across the country. Now that we are both on the same coast again in close proximity to one another, our scheming has started up once again.
This project came about sort of by mistake, and we can’t wait to share more with you. If you played Delaware, or have pictures or videos of shows in Delaware, or know about any rare / obscure records from Delaware, please slide in our DMs.
Paul will be moderating a conversation with Julia Gorton and Rick Brown for the release of their amazing Beat It! zine anthology on 2/1 at Record Grouch in Greenpoint Brooklyn and I will be appearing on the February episode of Tabs Out podcast, playing tapes from Delaware.
Thanks to everyone who’s worked with us and helped us out thus far. Thank you Kevin McCabe @buyawesomerecords for our logo!
@delawaremusichistory shirts are done! If you pre-ordered, expect them in the mail soon, or head over to @rainbowrecordsde to pick yours up (if you chose pickup)! Huge thanks to everyone who jumped on and supported this fundraiser and keep your eyes peeled for what’s next!
@delawaremusichistory Tshirts available on the site. Link in bio! Support these guys and their deep deep dive into Delaware’s musical past. Preorder ends soon. They’ll still be available to order, but getting in on the first wave helps with my printing logistics. Thanks!
Porch Fest was a blast. Super well organized, seamless, so much great music, great community. Looking forward to next year.
I saw and did a bunch more, but my phone died halfway through the day.
