Happy Mann Monday! We are pleased to announce that our esteemed founder, Dave, "Huggy Beahr" Hansen, is joining the @sturgismotorcyclemuseum Hall OF Fame.
🏁 Hall of Fame Spotlight: Dave “Huggy Beahr” Hansen 🏁
"Dave “Huggy Beahr” Hansen was a beloved figure in the vintage motorcycle world and a lifelong resident of Ventura, California. For over five decades, he dedicated himself to preserving and restoring antique motorcycles, earning international respect as an expert on Indian and Harley-Davidson machines.
As the owner of The Shop for more than 50 years, Dave was not only a master mechanic but also a mentor who shared his knowledge with enthusiasts around the world. He was deeply involved in antique motorcycle shows and even embraced the history and thrill of racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Known for his warmth, generosity, and infectious smile, Dave built lasting friendships everywhere he went and showed compassion both on and off the bike.
He passed away on April 12, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire."

The David Mann @chopperfest is rolling back into town September 19, 2026, and this year we’re taking things up a notch. The show is moving over to @knuckleheadskc , and trust me… this one’s gonna be bigger, louder, and rowdier than last year.
We’ve got a ton of announcements coming soon, so keep your eyes on this page and the @chopperfest Instagram. Builders, riders, artists, and music lovers…. Get ready.
The weekend kicks off Friday night back in the West Bottoms with a pre-party hosted by @grimmtattookc . You already know @luckyboyskc , @voltairekc , and the rest of the Genesee Street crew will be pouring drinks and keeping everyone fed while the bikes start rolling into town.
So mark your calendars.
Book the hotels.
Start gettin’ them bikes ready.
Kansas City… we’re coming back for another round of choppers, friends, and a little bit of chaos.

I think I can finally call this finished! It began as part of a series I started for @chopperfest in ventura CA! 🏍️Somewhere along the way it took on a life of its own. She is a quiet study of freedom, solitude and self-reliance. 🎨
