I have so, so many thoughts. How is it, that in the year 2025 skin whitening cream is still a thing? Or that nine year olds are doing anti-aging skin care routines? Or that most images are edited and filtered, so much so that we forget what real skin looks like? The texture, pores, bumps, scars, acne, freckles, and variations in color.  As we celebrate #AANHPIheritagemonth I don't want to gloss over the colorism that exists within my own community, and that even with representation, only a small sliver of Asians (often pale, freckle free, east Asians) see themselves represented in books, TV, and the media.   I wrote MADE FOR MORE to share my journey, of loving my skin and learning that the color, texture, moles, and scars are a map of who we are, where we're from, and where we've been.
