Happy chappie birthday to my other half, my best friend, my number 1 favorite person, my sister Jess!!!! Going into sincere mode in my 30s ~~ last year I got to spend more time with my sister than I have in years. I went back to the Hudson Valley for a month and got to experience the beautiful community she created for herself, and then I helped her move her life to Providence to start grad school. She is such a bright light in the lives of many. She is a truly courageous artist who goes deep with people to create the work she has a vision for. She is also a fun, silly, and wild woman who wants to experience all life has to offer. Everyone go wish Jess a happy 32nd birthday š I love you so much my sister.
Last weekend I hosted a cozy pop-up dinner at my godparentsā house. The last time I hosted a dinner at their home was eight years ago, before so much of my culinary career had taken place. I felt my growth in this dinner, in the menu, in the friends who were present, in having my sweet Neil there as my sous chef. It is so special to have people who want to eat my food, cook with me, and open their home in honor of a delicious meal. I love to cook! And I love my LA community ā¤ļø

Today is a special day that I cherish because my sister was born one minute before me and then we came into this world together as best friends ššš I usually roast her and share mostly embarrassing content in this yearly sister b day post, but this time I wanted to share some of us together (and maybe one embarrassing video hehe). If you are lucky enough to be a friend of Jessā you know the light that she is. Her love of community, deep connection, and kindness are just some of her lovable qualities. Happiest of Chappiest birthdays to my beautiful sister!!!! I love you so much.
