Thank you to the many people I haven’t mentioned here who supported and sponsored me at a very early stage.
The film has now entered post-production, and we are currently seeking funding, including for an upcoming premiere in Melbourne this June. We hope to bring this film to a wider audience.
This is not just a story about a Taiwanese backpacker coming to Australia. It is about the challenges faced by migrant workers in a foreign land. This is also my story and your story. I look forward to seeing you at the premiere.

"We often enter other people's stories to find the solution to fix our own lives.”
@thelasttenant
Hey, this is Ivan, the writer and director of The Last Tenant. This project is deeply personal, inspired by true stories and creating silent struggles of the foreign living during the working holidays.
In this film, Lian and Shaki are two women separated by culture and age but bound by a shared "Survivor’s Guilt." The journey isn’t just about living in a foreign land; it’s about confronting between the moment and the haunted past you never answered to yourself. We often enter other people's stories to find the solution needed to fix our own lives.
I am making this kind of movie to give a voice to the isolated international students and backpackers, and to show how that can resonate with each viewer without borders. Your support will help us bring this strong visual, deep emotions, and authentic healing journey to the screen.
Please join us in telling such a beautiful story where these crew and cast not just making a film, but also leaving behind their significant moments that will go beyond the story itself.

Not today as a student, aaj main dil se baat kar raha hoon as a storyteller. Saalon se film sets pe dusron ki kahaniyaan zinda karta aaya hoon, aur aaj pehli baar apni khud ki kahani share kar raha hoon. “What We Never Said” meri likhi aur direct ki hui short film — sirf mera Masters project nahi hai, yeh mere sapne ka ek bohot personal hissa hai. Is film ko honestly aur dil se banane ke liye mujhe aapke support ki zarurat hai. Agar aap thoda sa support kar pao ya bas is reel ko share kar do, woh mere liye bohot matter karta hai.

Hello everyone. This is Ivan, I am the director of this short film, the last tenant. I’m thrilled to share a story that is not just very deeply personal for me, but also touching for every backpacker they coming to Australia for working holiday. I believe this story will resonate globally and be known oversea, that’s a reason why I make this short film.
This is a 10-minute Drama short film, inspired by true stories I heard from many of my friends, based on their working holiday experiences. it is a film about belonging, isolation, and finding an unexpected connection in a foreign land.
Please donate us to bring The Last Tenant on the screen.

Behind the scenes of Virasat 🎥 — a uni project that turned into something really special. It’s a story about a dancer finding his way back to his roots after a tragic turn, and somewhere in that process, we all found a piece of ourselves too. I planned the lights, shot it on the Sony PXW-Z90V, directed one episode, and took on a few different roles along the way. Grateful for the amazing crew who made every long day on set worth it. This year has been full of learning, films, and moments I’ll never forget 🌿✨

During September, I was extremely busy and didn’t have time to update many of my videos. A lot of memorable things happened in the second half of this year. One of the events was attending the large Taiwanese Mid-Autumn(Moon🌕) Festival celebration organized by Jo @cake_a_lish in Colac, which was filled with authentic Taiwanese vibes and warmhearted effort.❤️❤️❤️
